I’m not sure how effective or necessary it is, but I always put my newly acquired used hats in the freezer in a plastic bag for 48 hours. The purpose (at least from what I have read, and it does make some sense) is to kill any moth larvae/eggs that may be on the felt. I’m sure it can’t hurt... -

Thank you, sir! My wife is also usually the only one home for deliveries. I was lucky on the timing for this one. Right now, the expense isn’t as big an issue as “is that ANOTHER hat?” She really doesn’t mind, though (I think). I’ll sell one here and there, but not enough for a diversion... -
