A lovely jacket by all accounts.
I'm glad you were able to add a little width to the body. This cafe racer base pattern, without the shoulder gussets is actually quite wide up top & very slim through the body.
Mine has broken in to be comfortable, but if I were to do it again, I would also have...
What's this 'new venture' of which Aero speaks (on their FB page)?
"Where were we yesterday? Excited to be a part of a new venture - watch this space."
Great new acquisition Chris!
I agree that the back yoke design is a defining feature, very much like the collar.
That aside, I think this one looks great on you. I was going to say that after a year or so it will form around you and look even better, but do you actually hang on to them for that...
On GW's site, they have the following two references;
"We have been extended the use of the name Aero by Aero Leathers of Scotland, via a license agreement, and we thank them. We had previously used the name Acme for the company in this contract."
"We have been extended the use of the name Aero...
Very, very nice!
Kangaroo normally has the great combination of being a light (thinner) hide with a very strong tear resistance characteristic. It is commonly used in motorcycle protective clothing.
I have a pair of Kangaroo RM Williams boots & protective motorcycle racing gloves. Nice stuff.
A brand is built on many elements.
Quality & consistency of product, service standards, value for money, uniqueness of offering etc all contribute to how consumers value your offering compared to the competition.
Asking comparable prices to the competition automatically assumes you can meet...
That's a stunning hide & a stunning jacket.
I think you should be well pleased, particularly with the fit.
I wouldn't worry at all about any 'imperfections' as you have highlighted as the pro's most definitely outweigh any (perceived) con's.
As for the shiny hide, this will most likely...
I'm not sure what all of the whining is about. It's summer, it gets hot :eusa_doh:
Both of the below pics are considered very normal range for Sydney. Actually, we would get several days above 40 degrees in a normal summer. and Sydney's weather is very acceptable in comparison to many other...
Wouldn't cord or moleskin in the sleeves make it difficult to get in & out of? I imagine it would catch on everything you wear (long sleeves of course).
Surely cotton drill is recommended by the manufacturer for a reason.
What about a combination of both?
Cotton drill for the body (hard wearing & comfortable) plus sateen for the sleeves for ease of getting in & out of?
That sounds like a nice arrangement to me. Has anyone tried this?
Bridle leather for a jacket? Must be a beast of a thing.
I think everyone's advice is sound, although I agree not altogether palatable.
Loosing money on nice things is never an ideal.
Getting that perfect fitting jacket in the exact cut & leather combo will eventually erase all ill memories...
Seriously, if you're in the US make full use of the Thurston fit program.
For this kind of money, why risk making fatal fit mistakes when you can be practically certain of the fit?
For us members who are outside of the US, the cost of shipping fit jackets back and forth adds to the overall...
