Agreed, these are great value vs quality. However, one must emphasize "some" of the designs are awesome. I scratch my head at a lot of them thinking wtf / why / who designed this! hah. I did just nab a nice vintage pair of HG riding pants / they made for Kawasaki, rough shape / some cracking...
Vanson Force on the bike (armored pad / vintage comp weight ). Sry for the lack of photo but the jacket had to come off the minute I rolled in the garage. 88 / humid :( Guess that's why they make a perforated version but I just can't force myself into liking the look.
On a different topic, the addiction struck again last night. Literally one day after I eBay my Aero M422a that was too large, I buy this. It's like the jacket closet gods demanded a like replacement!
1968 Martin Lane G1 - Tag 42
Maybe for sale, depending on if you ask my bank account or the little jacket devil/pitchfork guy on my shoulder saying "buy more jackets".
Custom Aero HB Tag 42. 19"shoulder / 23 pit / 26 sleeve / 25.5 back
The fit is definitely more "relaxed" than my usual CRs that only fit t-shirts under. The plan for this is cooler weather wear / more casual bulk attire. The arms are freakishly long, but actually like the body length. I think once the cat eye chest pockets are in to fill out the blank chest and...
Figured I’d snap a couple “before alteration” pics and then update when it returns from Langlitz with chest pockets and shorter sleeves. 1” off the cuffs will be right above the existing cuff dual stitch lines. I’m afraid going any shorter will make the zip section look oddly short.
Thanks! Agree, somehow this 70's harley pattern fits me like a glove. Even better than my custom jackets, but I would never have spec'd as much midsection taper. Just too risky it doesn't come out well.
Agreed! Luckily it's really only the inner sleeve cuff area that became ripped. There's enough material where I could actually fix this myself with some rubber cement and call it day. But given the crazy long sleeves, I need a solid 1" maybe 1.25" chopped off, I'll have this patched up properly...
Warm weather Cafe racer- Harley AMF. Think I prefer this pattern over my vintage Brooks CR. Chest pockets just seem a bit low on the Brooks imo whereas the Harley has typical placement.
The hide on this one is like Lost Worlds thick and only from 2013. So as long as the alterations aren't crazy expensive it still works out given the bargain bay price I snagged it for. Lining repair is only one sleeve, left arm where someones heavy duty watch ripped through the cuff lining. The...
This was the Langlitz I snagged off the bay / torn liner / funky measurements etc. Just finished it’s bath and re-conditioning. Planning on sending into Langlitz to chop 1” off the sleeves and fix lining. Really only one sleeve needs a new lining so it won’t be a full reline job.
Question...
Glad someone got it! Yes, this is just tongue in cheek / in jest. Something my mind was pondering while in the quarantine boredom. Curious to see what the overall result will be
Just traded my cruiser style bike for a modern retro Cafe Racer. Clearly, my cafe racer jackets are a good pairing, but what about the cross zips?! Is it a sin to wear a cross zip style MC jacket on a cafe racer bike???
This was during my phase of "armchair jacket designer / pattern maker". Some worked out well, others not so much, and I may or might not have drove the nice folks at Aero crazy ;)
