If the OP's story is all true, then IMO that is just extremely poor taste / lack of class on Aero's behalf. Everyone / every organization is capable of making an exception if they choose to do so. Especially for a repeat customer who politely asks for it. Not just a "buyer's remorse" or "got...
Thanks Alan. I know you guys will make it right. Main reason I trusted you to perform minor surgery on this awesome Lost Worlds jacket instead of anyone else! Looking forward to getting this one on my back finally. Should be a superb end of riding season jacket here in the NE.
It actually had just about the same total thickness before putting in the tweed. Only difference was that apparently Lost Worlds quilted fabric isn't backed with thinsulate material but with a thin foam instead. So shiny nylon / stitched in a quilted pattern over thin foam.
Still have high...
Woolite-Vinager acid bath was successful!! Both funk and vinegar smells are now basically 99% gone. Just minor residue in the armpit gusset where the g1 has those folds. I can just imagine the original owner flying an F4 Phantom sweating his balls off as he has to eject! ha
Now onto the "bring...
Johnson Leather's is covering this round trip as it's clearly their error. And it will get worked on as soon as it arrives. Just frustrating when something doesn't arrive as expected especially when the biz has a long established reputation of high quality work. Everyone has their off days I...
Kind of shocked to be writing this as my Lost Worlds jacket is on it's second trip back to SF for its' re-line / re-zip. Positive news first, the Re-zip was as good as can be expected on such a heavy heavy. Perfectly acceptable on a black MC jacket. But this was how my re-line arrived with the...
This one is definitely beyond the limits of Febreez. Not quite homeless but swam in ocean / never properly washed/dried after. Decided to try the wash sink soak with oolite and vinegar. Hand agitated it a bit, then toweled off excess water, no wringing. Currently drying and it doesn't smell...

My latest "project jacket" and first Navy G1 ever. From what I gather, this is a 1969 contract Vietnam era standard issue. And this specific one smells like the pilot ditched in the Gulf of Tonkin! No exaggeration and I've smelt funky smokey vintage before but even the leather has a dried...
If you're set on Schott and this particular model, than Large is it. Medium will not work for you. I'm a similar height /waist, a bit lighter though at 160 and Schott's just don't get along with me. I need the shoulder/lat width of their Large but the midsection/waist of their Medium which is...
Exactly how all 40 Vansons fit me! Figured Id go size 42 on the HC to account for thicker cold weather riding gear but even with just the rayon lining I stay pretty warm. Glad my hard work and miles on the Triumph broke this in for someone who will appreciate it and not just flip on eBay.
Length wise Im hoping / guessing it will be perfect. I'm 5'9 and this 42 was too long for me on the bike and off. Same with the 42 chopper it tried, 40 is my sweet spot with Vanson. Semi fitted / snug in body but perfect length. Also agree, cross zip style jackets look better when snug vs extra...
