Sources for MC Jacket Belts and Fur Collars

Any tailor will make you a removable fur collar for a price and you can buy suitable mouton or fur on eBay or in antique shops, just look around. I made my own for a Schott matching and fitting poppers that fitted the male ones on the jacket. It’s not as neat a job as a tailor or seamstress...

    Monarch G-1 Zipper

If you check out Dinermans dating zipper guide in the above ‘Guides Section’ you’ll see that the Talon stopper box on your jacket is from the 30’s or 40’s- hard to see exactly from your pic but it’s not a 50’s zipper. It’s possible that it’s original to the jacket if your jacket is an M422a from...

    Broken Stitches

Have you asked about USPS flat rate box shipping with insurance? I had an original very heavy US postal satchel shipped to me in one and it was a great deal cheaper than your quote. If you do post it back be sure to mark the customs label as a return to save tax.

    High rise tapered selvedge jeans

Yes a seamstress will pin the seams to your liking and make a taper by reducing both seams (and leave enough of an opening to get your foot out;)), In the north of the U.K. an alteration like this would cost around £20 or less.

    High rise tapered selvedge jeans

Why not buy a pair of selvedge high rise jeans and have them tapered to ‘your choice’ by a tailor or seamstress? In non selvedge you might take a look at Levi’s 511’s skinnyfit or in selvedge Lee 101 rider lot no 49 narrow loom Selvedge.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

It did take a couple of years but my experience is, if you persevere it will turn up at a good price (but at an expensive price more frequently).

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

I made a quick reference in the Aero sale thread to there not being any A1s in the sale but I’d found this jacket. I couldn’t believe my luck- listed on eBay as a brown bomber jacket with buttons. It looked ‘proper’ and while the YMC stamp on the lining threw me the black label gave me...

    Addict Clothes AD-10 in Horsehide

It’s close in design to the Lewis made UK motorcycle police jacket that was seen in the days before health and safety led to armoured jackets.

    Aero Sale Oct 22nd 2018

Wow, thank you for the heads up, but I’ve already found and bought a YMC A1 on eBay in nicely ‘broken in’ condition. It looks like a really well made jacket and may even be by a premium maker?
