Yes me too - no mention on the Aero site yet.
As the sales are next Monday not today, presumably the Sales will suddenly appear? on the Aero web site at 9.00 am next Monday.
Not wishing to hijack the thread but I think this is relevant too - I was surprised to read that if you send an eBay parcel ‘click and collect’ the sale is cancelled and the parcel sent back to the seller who then must refund the buyer, if the buyer doesn’t pick it up within 7 days of delivery...
I was wary of using it until the reviews improved. I’ve since used it quite a few times and only been worried twice but all my parcels were delivered eventually. The first was a rare expensive early Lewis Leather sent to Japan - the tracking message came up ‘package damaged unable to deliver’ or...
Yes much easier to work on - I had the engine out and back in again within a day, quite easily on a rented hoist when I replaced the worn piston rings and big and little end shells. The previous owner had obviously been frugal with the engine oil. With regard to the new 500 I was surprised to...
I live in Sheffield which like Rome is said to have been built on seven hills. There’s a local witticism that you drive uphill to the shops park, shop and then walk uphill back to the car. Consequently having an automatic car is a bonus. We’ve got a BMW X1 with auto gearbox as the sensible car...
I don’t think it will work on sheepskins. It’s usually used on steer and horse hides and on these it’s never an exact science - there are sometimes problems such as wrinkly zippers uneven shrinkage shrinking lining etc.
If you search TFL you’ll find lots of threads on it - here’s one from 2012...
You can reduce the file size by emailing the pics to yourself and choosing ‘medium’ when it asks how big to send the attachment. When they arrive save them to photos or the equivalent on your phone pc or Mac.
In my experience the commonest ‘white label’ G1s I’ve found in the UK are Imperial...
Well Mini Cooper driving Mods wore Crombie overcoats, short Italian style mohair suit jackets and Harrington’s but if you want to wear leather in your little flying machine it’s got to be an A2 or a G1 (They also wore leather or suede bomber jackets). In Summer they’d have worn a Lee Levi or...
I use a vintage Gillette Contour Plus. You can still buy the blades for around £9.00 for ten or you can buy a 10 pack of Aldi two blade disposable razors for 75 pence and carefully break off their blades - they are a perfect fit.
If you can’t find a reasonably priced contour handle then look out...
I’m watching ‘Flying Across Britain with Arthur Williams’ episode 4 UK Channel 4 7.00pm Sunday - he’s exploring the WW2 airfields in Lincolnshire and its very interesting but so can’t identify his leather jacket- can anyone here recognise it?
Some leather treatments temporarily darken the leather but the leather lightens gradually as the treatment soaks in and evaporates from the top layer of the surface.
I’m not trying to be contentious but it strikes me as odd that these collectibles are illegal in some States where kids can openly purchase baseball bats?
I’m 65 and old enough to have started school at the time they ‘encouraged’ lefties to be righties. Consequently I’m left handed in pre-school skills (I jump off my left foot, box southpaw and eat with my fork in my right hand etc. and my handwriting is right handed untidy and spidery.
- reminds...
Interestingly they don’t make an ambidextrous single blade pocket knife, perhaps it’s not just as simple as grinding a thumbnail slot on both sides of the blade?
Gamble and Gunn make a tweed Newsboy called ‘the Shelby’ (cashing in on Peaky Blinders?), it’s reasonably priced and available on Amazon UK. I found out about them when I bought an ‘unwanted gift’ one on a car boot last Saturday for £3.00 - size 7 3/4” true to size and it was lightweight and...
