Nice to see a beat up one for a change, lets hope it's legit.
Unless you plan on wearing this jacket I would not worry about changing the cuffs. If it is so dry it would crack the leather , boiling the jacket in a gallon of Pecards mixed with KoCholine and it will never bring it back. If thats...
Yes everything just right.
Hey what happened! In your photo's you forgot the Zombie 'Strangle' pose:eek:
Nice jacket, looks great fits great what more's to say except post some pictures in a years time.
That is why none of the reproductions will never gain the patina of old timer originals, be they Japanese Buco's, Goodwear A2s, Eastman B3s etc etc. Folks out there pay so much for these things and become scared to wear them.
There have been some crazy denim styles in the 40 odd years I have been doing the retro look. At one time it was simply Levi's or Wranglers, with turn ups of any sort. In the 80s there was a fashion for just turned up showing about an inch max. Then the turn up floated around the 1-3 inch, but...
Turned up jeans have been popular in the UK since those far off days of RnR, yes I agree about 1 1/2 ins is about the max. I sometimes prefer just the bottom turned with about 3/4in of inner hem. Occasionally no turn up to please the Mrs as she does not like turned up jeans at all.
Yes, road...
So members, what width at the ankle do you like your turn up(cuff) to be?
With my footwear I prefer 14 inch as I wear boots a lot, any wider and the hem slips over and catches on the rise of the heel. I don't like the old baggy 40s style as I have skinny legs and they just don't hang correct...
My Mrs is not into the 'Vintage' look at all though she likes my hats and some leather coats/jackets I have always wore. She has tried to change me and gets extremely frustrated that her efforts amount to virtually nothing. I even say to her "I would never try to change you, I love you just as...
Think I will give them a miss because I don't think the baggy trouser high waisted George Raft looks suits me and I might get arrested for carrying a Tommy gun or even a violin case(with a violin , even if a Thomson would not fit in it).
I'm thinking "Oi! Bugsy Malone" as I stroll along in brown...
Maybe Daniel Craig is not a regular jacket wearer. Personally I would have closed the breast pocket and maybe checked the zip puller though the latter could have just got caught on something when not worn.
Sleeves look a little long going by left arm hanging. His jeans look awful in my opinion, too baggy at the turn up. They look like my chainstore bought 501s.Could have had a brown belt and cap/hat to go with the boots, or black boots.
The Trialsmaster is a classic and definitely has the cool factor with bikes though the belt is a must, but the standard wax green jacket looks best when matched with a shotgun or fishing tackle standing in a Scottish river fly fishing.
Thanks for the tip about Derek at Lewis, I may give him a try;)
I like this one with the slant on the pocket. The only thing I don't like is the one piece puller on the zip, I don't know why, is it a modern thing? My 'Border' has it.
Got a project going, an old 60s Trialsmaster, needs new Lightning zip, a clean and re wax to be serviceable again. Anyone...
Just come back this 1st May.
Going up the A1 was blocked and got directed to Edinburgh via the A68, a fantastic road to remember for a bike trip. Got to a roundabout, turn left for Galashiels(7 miles i think) but had to look straight on and whimsical, just wishing.
I took everything, so as...
I have a full length wool overcoat from the good old days that pushes 10 lds easy. Maybe I will weigh it someday but it's spring now so it stays in the wardrobe ;)
