My Eastman Luftwaffe creaked liked Dracula getting out of his coffin so I just rubbed it with some Ko Cho Line and that stopped it, I think any conditioner would work to be honest. Occasionally I use Nikwax as well though it smells of linseed oil.
I also had some Power Ranger bike boots with...
I kinda agree with Worf here, sort of a stupid question "What jacket are you wearing today"! It's going up to 30º today, the jackets stay in the wardrobe hopefully till Autumn. I'll be in the garden with a beach towel, a pillow, and a good book wearing nothing but my 'Budgie Smugglers' (I'll...
Ebay is the main place I would think, but break it down like this.
If you have an overpriced item you get masses of watchers and probably almost no real buyers just to see if the item will sell at the inflated price, probably so they too maybe able to attain a similar price. It doesn't always...
It sure would. The stitching is consistent to all the patches as if done by the same person and looks very old, and looked old when I obtained ithe jacket. The 15th patch originally sewn fell off and was lost during my ownership so I replaced it with my own reproduction cut from a (UK) Ford...
There is a website almost devoted to A2s, not sure of the full name, something like 'Vintage WWII Leather Jackets'.
I have an original jacket with some info but I don't follow the forum as they won't let me on it as I don't have a proper email I originally got from my broadband supplier(I won't...
Not tried the Aero's though Craig's look fine, though I have had my Eastman's for over 20 years. Either way if I were ordering a new pair I would do as I did with my Eastie's and order without the Army decal. That way they blend with anything.
You can remove the decal with some thinner(as I did...
Yes I think Aero would put a new label in. I thought Lewis would too to be honest as long as they did it and was for their jacket, quite surprising they would not.
Either way enjoy or sell on to enjoy something else :)
You can get serious money for real rubbish Lewis jackets, flaking, scuffed torn, crumbly leather. I have had a couple, Highwayman are good sellers as well. Often the labels turn up on cheaper jackets such as Mascots etc. There is always someone ready to try it on.
Whenever I look at one and...
Nice :) Even nicer with a 70s 2 stroke Suzuki T500 or Kawasaki triple.
I sold a friends 1980s made to measure Lewis a few years ago. Though well made, the quality of the leather really made it just another leather bike jacket not a patch on the 60 or even early 70s quality.
Just about every single 'British' jacket I have picked up is supposedly a Lewis these days. They did make quality up to the 1970s but 1980s? Like the British motorbike industry as a whole......on the way out.
Looks British though certainly not Lewis Leathers,I take it, it is blue. I have one almost exactly the same. So how can it be 'almost' exactly the same I hear you say. Well now, mine has all the same details except one. This looks to be a 1980s version of a standard lancer motorcycle jacket...
I think King Kurt were the biggest name back then. I never went to any psycho events then though I do remember the Meteors, Guana's, The Cramps. Restless and The Polecats were on the borderline of Rocka/Psycho as were the Stray Cats though King Kurt were the only group I saw on TV and...
The Sarno's were never into wild clothes or hair, looked quite normal really, a bit like Zoot Suiters. Herbert the lead singer would often come on in a night shirt or toga, the other members wearing something similar and often finished by taking the lot off and walking off stage naked. I do...
Did you ever come across Rochee & the Sarnos by any chance? Very early 1980s to mid 80s, they were a sort of comedy psychobilly band. Guitarist Rob Glazebrook was/is quite an accomplished musician in this and general RnR genre.
Unabridged is always best in english language or translated as there have been some excellent translations in the past. It all depends on the translators skill.
At the moment I am getting through a few classics, I don't go in for political satires such as Gulliver's Travels(Never finished) but...
We seemed to have a very long winter this year, I could have worn old Thunder till the beginning of May. Not absolute freezing but comfortable, apart from a couple of days in April I was sunbathing in early April though I think it is now away till at least October :)
Watershed Down by Richard Adams.
Just finished this fantasy novel about a group of rabbits and their adventures to find a new home.
In the film I had only ever watched the ending and was curious as the film came with a warning "Not Suitable for young children".
So the animation of the film is...
Changes from day to day. Once upon a time I would not be seen dead in anything but an A2, original or copy. Now I'm not so fussy but what I pick is usually the jacket I wear for that period, and it can last a day or a week.
Yes I like other peoples items but I like my own choices most of all...
