A very simple center dent might use only 1/2" of height but many bashes with more features will use 1 inch and more. 5 1/8 bashed would be a very tall hat.
It is a heavy box. I thought there was going to be a piece of metal or a kilo of illegal something under the cardboard insert once I handled it. Just the hat and dense cardboard.
Thank y'all. I saw it on FB and took off to get it in case there was a bunch of hat freaks (like myself and you folks reading this.....) also driving like a maniac in that direction. Apparently I was the only one that inquired. Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn on occasion.
My first 7X Clear Beaver. I have handled several and was always impressed and this one lives up to the reputation. Great felt feel and malleable but holds what you shape into it well. It has little signs of wear but a front pinch diamond is what it wants if you leave the decision up to the hat...
I had Covid and recovered except for the foggy brain syndrome. I still drift off and think of Stetson 100s, Gannon fedoras, Mike Miller wide brim westerns, and all manner of other new and vintage hats. Anyone else exhibiting those symptoms?
If you are thinking about sending it out then you have nothing to lose if you try something simple. First a question: Are you a really long narrow skulled person? If your head is really oval then the head shape may be stressing the hat and making the brim snap up more in rear and down more in...
Yep, there is that hat you slide onto your head and the world is a better place at least for a moment. for me this Art Fawcett creation is that hat. I will say the Stetson Ross is wearing is an iconic lid for sure.
I missed the Facebook part and Googled "blue blood silver". that is definitely not at all about hats. That is the condition where silver accumulation in body turns your skin blue gray. I like blue-gray hats but skin, not so much. Cool hats on your page when I did go to the correct place.
