Off topic, but I always marvel as to how bad some jacket makers are in displaying their pieces in a favourable way on their websites.
Thedi is like, ‘How do you like me in my kids jacket?’
Vanson more like, ‘ Even with this dad bod of mine it’s sensational how ill fitting a nice jacket can...
I find the Cafe Racer a little long for this style. A bit hard to judge with your shirt untucked and the angle of the photo.
The 673 is really nice. Color is great.
I hear you re bold/safe style, but that’s really for you to decide. Shame if the jacket would turn into a closet queen because...
The B-6 is the perfect shearling, IMO (this being a particularly nice example!).
My B-3 is a tank and ideal for elongated exposure to cold conditions, but I don´t really use it to go into town. Too chunky, too disctinctly military.
Wearing them as we speak, albeit with a suit and tie in the office; one thing I had not thought about: Having the vamp in rough-out is grabby AF. Every time I stand up I have to manually fiddle the trouser leg down again. Hope this works better with a pair of jeans.
Same here. Promised myself to go slow on them, though. Prices are high and going higher with the new pre-orders, and VAT/customs really add a hefty chunk!
He´s in remarkably good shape for his age. I just wish he had left his face alone. The last job left him looking like a cartoon character.
He´s coming back to my area next summer, but prices are EUR 200. That´salmost four times of what I paid last time around. I am still considering it as I...
Looks good to me too.
No use getting what was designed as a functional garment when you can´t move properly. In fact, a very slightly oversized look is perfect for an N-1.
Thanks, Ivan.
No gussets, no underarm footballs. Not easy to have shoulders with an ok range of motion without the back getting too much material. I guess I hit my sweet spot bang-on.
Black Bear Brand/Rios of Mercedes Roper.
What can I say? The top-notch quality is typical RoM, the bold design is typical BBB. Ordered last year.
Weird last on them: narrow and elongated at the same time. Good thing, the higher powers have equipped me with pretty forgiving feet.
After I did disclose my conflict of interest due to my very latest acquisition of a JL Cafe Racer, I might as well be direct:
Aero is the much more aggressive look with a massive taper from shoulder to hem and the curved sleeves. JL is much more easy wearing.
So, if I was back to below 10%...
No proper light for days, but I am eager to show this one off.
Johnson Leathers Cafe Racer in brown CXL HH bought from the lounge.
Many firsts for me: first JL, first brown CR, handwarmers, single chest pocket.
Leather is thinner than what Aero does and fit is real nice, so it’s a pleasure...
Not going to vote here, but I believe Aero gets less credit than is deserves.
Scroll back in TFL threads a few years and everybody (and their dogs) were all over Aero. The mainstream has since moved on, but the jackets are every bit as good as they used to be.
The tide may turn soon enough...
Quite right. Aero uses an inconsistent sizing system:
Premier Line: fits one size down
1930 patterns: TTS
1950 patterns: fits one size up
Part of the magic, right?! ;)
Sorry to hear that. You are not alone (as you can see from some light browsing here). Universal is a good compromise; it´s less fiddly than the other 5´s on Aero´s playlist, and I never had one fail on me.
As @TartuWolf said, if you plan to replace locally down the road, a No. 8 or 10 (which...
