Wow!
Even without the fringe, this would be a spectacular jacket. I suppose that´s the steer suede that I called "underwhelming" in a different thread. Shame on me! ;)
I tried a pair beginning of this year, and they fit more or less true to size. Maybe size up 0,5, but that’s about it.
The thing that didn’t work for me was the super narrow instep. I just couldn’t get them on unless I’d size up at least 1,5 sizes.
I am generally not a big fan of their steerhides (suede or other). I also don’t like all of their horses, but I struggle to come up with the name (it may be either the HV or the „soft“ variant).
I think they really excel with the thick and almost spongy hides (more or less) unique to them...
Thanks for the write-up!
I am a huge fan of Y2. Quality wise top tier und always great hides (some underwhelming ones too, but I guess they want some entry-level jackets in the lineup).
Congrats on the jacket. I haven’t had a chance to handle their super thick deer, but from photos it looks...
Crazy enough, there is zero problem with the iPhone. I will now try various browsers on the other devices and see how this goes. This seems to be a unique issue with this site, so there should be a solution too.
So, ok, it’s happening here too.
Can’t look onto the site via my notebook or iPad for days now. It’s not slow, it’s a complete no show.
iPhone is still alright. Haven’t changed any settings, no updates etc. I am typing right now while the notebook is stalled.
Yeah, the colour is definitely „blue enough“ to demand attention, but it still works as a daily driver.
I am always tempted by LL‘s turquoise or vintage turquoise, but I don’t think I’d wear something like that enough to justify the pricetag.
Took the jacket to an overnight offsite and got...
Thank you!
I am very happy with the fit. I am more or less a bang on size 44 in LL’s OTR sizing, but I can always use one inch more in length.
When the seller advised that they specced the back at 27” I was worried that this would be too much. Turns out it wears itself away quite nicely.
I...
Total impulse buy. LL Dominator in "blue" horse. Bought via a German retailer, so somehow, that made me excuse the new prices...
Probably not my regular choice of trousers with this jacket, but just the ones I had on when the courier arrived...
This came with +2 inches on the regular OTR...
Very, very nice hide on this one.
Very similar in look, smell and temper too the ‚oil-tanned‘ Shinki, Himel uses or what Greg Field used to call ‚Pony-hide‘. A bit stiffer than the later, but all in all very pliable to begin with.
This is a great jacket, and it suits you to a T! Big congratulations!
I didn’t much care for the last iterations of Perfectos, due to the odd dimensions (elongated bodies, tubular shapes), but they really outdid themselves with this one.
Only thing I am not completely sold on is the rather...
Thanks much! It really grows on me. Pleasure to put on. Very easy to wear, despite the apparent snugness. Wore it today with a fairly chunky hoodie amd had absolutely zero issue.
If it would grow one inch in length, I’d never take it off again…
I have zero reason to doubt that but one observation: the „fit guide“ on Schott´s Webpage still suggests the exact size 44 that I bought a little more than a year ago. And I surely wouldn’t want to squeeze into one down…
I guess you can beat the shine out of it by abusing the jacket, but other than that the hide is pretty shiny.
Top picture is straight out of the box, bottom picture is after nine months of moderate use.
You can expect a Thedi to be around USD 1.500, depending on model. If you’re based in the US, you can have a look at the Thurston Bros. webpage. They should be one of the largest stockists of Thedi that side of the pond.
This is one of his bestselling models. The hide is water buffalo, finished...
Thanks. Yeah, high rise jeans is not for me.
I would prefer an extra inch, but I can live with it. It’s more or less the same length as my Y2 (which is a totally different patter, and the dramatic taper in the TMC enhances the shortness, IMO.
Good point about the back drop. Haven’t checked...
i don’t know about annoying. I guess it’s a question of expectations.
With my „unfinished“ hides, I am open to constant evolution due to exposure. Similarly, with veg-tan hides, I do expect the leather to soak up water as opposed to repelling it.
Thedi makes one great jacket for sure. He...
I see... Yes, I have had similar spots on my unfinished stuff.
I don´t think it will ever really affect the integrity of the hide. As to visuals: if it bothers you, you can wipe down the entire jacket with a damp cloth. The whole leather will darken until dry and then develop a more even...
