I don't know to be honest. All I know is that it's vegetable tanned and that it looks, feels and smells great.

I think just like horsehide, buffalo leather varies a lot depending on how it's processed. Thedi's buffalo is very supple and it drapes well. But I've also seen buffalo leather jackets from other makers which were much more sturdy.

By the way, I just decided to pass this one on. I think the body length is an inch too long for me. Otherwise it's a perfect fit so I'm probably crazy for selling it. View attachment 284226 View attachment 284227

I'm not red devil, but I believe the answer to your question is YES.

Yes, it is veg tan buffalo, at the time I ordred it, we just called it "tan", but it should be Cognac. It came in much lighter than what you see here, and then got darker during summer. I wore it on the motorbike.

With Thedi, you have so many options, but don't overthiink it, no matter what you choose, it will look good!

Not a picture, but I did just order my first Thedi straight from the source

I went for a simple MTC-1279720/Memphis in cocoa buffalo. Same as pictured at Thedi website, also Thurston Bros sell it in this leather.

I did however request a change of collar to a shawl collar(like the one below) instead of the OG one while keeping everything else the same(two handwarmers + chest pocket with the gorgeous original back).

I've been searching for a zipped "cossack"/shawl collar jacket with a half belt and preferably back gusset but have only found single piece backs/HWM backs for this type of jacket(orgueil or-4222 for example, Bill Kelso cadet is another one).

Now I'll need to be patient while Thedi works his magic, but I really suck at waiting so this will be hard haha.

Off topic, but I always marvel as to how bad some jacket makers are in displaying their pieces in a favourable way on their websites.

Thedi is like, ‘How do you like me in my kids jacket?’
Vanson more like, ‘ Even with this dad bod of mine it’s sensational how ill fitting a nice jacket can look!’
Very good Lost Worlds: ‘I feel insecure, but going bow hunting in my dad‘s jacket didn’t help. I feel cold…’.
