    What are you wearing today??

Cheers Eddie, works with my long neck! Bob, I agree. There is such a stigma on hats nowadays - the ridiculous fedora meme. And yet apart from the look, it is a practical piece of gear- Once it becomes a habit, it is rarely not hat/cap weather. You want protection from the sun, cold and rain.

And yet in Germany, gutted by aerial bombings, quite a few things seem to have survived, well looked after. In searching for Russian photos, of course the language barrier is an issue. The best source I have found for historical photos of everyday life in the Soviet Union in English, aptly...

Photos of Russian civilians pre-1950s are so rare compared to other countries (online). And I've never seen a vintage Russian suit. I suspect 'vintage' isn't something that is very valued in Russia.

Funny how within the vintage fan world 'micro fashions' emerge... Recently neckerchiefs seem to be 'fashionable' I've taken to wearing one myself.

This why I come to the Fedora Lounge!! What a great idea, and it would probably not be too hard for a tailor to make such an alteration.

BOTH SIDES OF THE TWEED! - Show us your tweed suits, sport coats and pants

Yes, I am often in Cyprus and the winter is certainly cold enough for medium weight tweed, but heavy tweed and overcoats are almost redundant.

1952 Fleck Tweed Suit "ClipperCraft" Sz. 40

That's a good hem width, I am glad that the trousers aren't pegs! I forgot to ask- is 34 inches the generic size of the trousers, or the actual measurement?

1952 Fleck Tweed Suit "ClipperCraft" Sz. 40

If it is still available, I'm interested, and it would fit me well if the trouser waist can be let out a little bit. How wide is the trouser hem out of interest?

    What are you wearing today??

Scott, the suit is wonderful, it really looks like it was made for you. Congrats on that find. The jacquard jumper and spectators really elevate the outfit. Big Man, that is a classic, no-nonsense look. You definitely should get a linen suit, or at least a jacket! They are very practical for the...

Chester Cordite - anyone had experience with them?

Not being a 100% vintage accuracy type of dresser, I am happy if the quality and fit of the garment are good, if the cut is classic/vintage and the design exhibits some boldness. I too quite like the look of the db sport coat. Is there any chance you could post a photo of yourself wearing it...

One of Gary Cooper's jackets, owned by a collector: http://www.collectingclassichollywood.com/search/label/Shirley%20Temple and a rather distinctive suit worn by a German priest: http://www.deutschefotothek.de/documents/obj/89000882

I believe that viscose is essentially the same as rayon, so it has been around for a while. :)
