What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Finally got photos of my 50s Sierra Sportswear jacket. Overall fits me well, though it oddly pinches in the arm pits and the shoulders were hung improperly so that's quite annoying. Another aspect of many vintage jackets I'm loving is the minimal or nonexistant front drop. Being a shorter guy...

Lining Material in N-1: Real McCoy's vs. Iron Heart

I've tried on the iron heart one and it feels itchier than my fully alpaca Freewheelers. I think the buzz ones are generally thought of as itchiest. But the iron heart sleeves might be most comfortable for you if you're sensitive as they're not lined with that sheeps wool/alpaca blend. I...

    Double Helix Works?

@58panheadfan good to know about the Chinese fakes. I figured that rumor about them making in China was false. This may be the source of it. Definitely hope they sue them. The Nitta HH looks great. If I could find a pattern from them that works I'd like to try it out.

Double Helix Deviant Fit check/size comparison

Definitely 42. I have also tried to make tighter jackets work and it just isn't fun.

    Fit check: fcl Mariana jacket

That's a very small number of people really. Very unfortunate.

    Fit check: fcl Mariana jacket

It's baffling. It doesn't even look good on the Japanese guys. Who is making these awful patterns?!

Finds and Deals - Leather Jacket Edition

I'm trying to fix this issue with my Sierra Sportswear I bought here on TFL classifieds. No luck yet.

    Fit check: fcl Mariana jacket

It looks too tight up top and far too loose in the belly and bottom opening. The pattern just doesn't suit you (or most people)

    The Deck Jacket thread.

The fact that Freewheelers has actual alpaca in the sleeves and the flannel layer means this is not guaranteed as you think. I'm not saying it is or it isn't, just that your assumption isn't including all the information. Plus, that pricing is ridiculous and you can get them for a heck of a lot...

    The Deck Jacket thread.

Don't buy it from them. If you buy direct from japan it's amazingly more affordable, especially if you can find away around the import taxes in Europe. You can get them for around 1200 yen which is roughly 800usd. Basically in line with other higher end n1 jackets.

Hi new here. Is wearing a leather jacket basically an invitation for trouble?

Yup! That'd why I made sure to say "plain" leather jackets. That part is important. I do see Mongols decently often and I have seen Angels a couple times as well, but not for a while.

Hi new here. Is wearing a leather jacket basically an invitation for trouble?

Not a problem at all. The bigger issue would be if you wore a motorcycle vest aka a kutte with a symbol or logo on it. That can get you beat up or much worse. A plain leather jacket, even if it's a motorcycle jacket is not even slightly an issue. I see motorcycle club members, including outlaw...

    Fit Check: Real McCoy's N-1

The only thing that looks "wrong" to me is the sleeves being long. It's a big jacket and shouldn't fit super tight IMO. The sleeves are long, but otherwise it looks decent. Not the most flattering, but not oversized either.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Thanks for the honest feedback everyone. I probably am going to sell the Californian. I like how it looks for the most part zipped up, but for me, a jacket that looks so big unzipped is basically useless to me.

    The Deck Jacket thread.

If you want the best deck jacket in terms of materials and warmth, definitely go with Freewheelers. I've tried one on and an iron heart as well as buzz and rmc. The Freewheelers alpaca felt the nicest. I also own a Freewheelers winter jacket with alpaca lining and it's wonderful. I also...

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Curious what y'all think. Some more pics of my 1940s California Sportswear aviator. It's bigger than I'm used to, but I don't think it's too big. Maybe at most half a size big, but I still like it. It's very comfortable and while it is much longer than I prefer, it still looks "correcf." 5his...

Schott has been very busy! 3Sixteen x Schott releases Monday

The leather looks utterly fantastic. The jacket itself looks too long and the design is confused.
