    Yeah its possible they were made for train stokers, but we don't have any actual proof of that. I don't know of any photos of train workers wearing them. If anyone does have any I'd love to see them. Would be extremely informative. I wish we knew more about the early history of engineer boots.

    I'd be wary of buying a Japanese market jacket as your first jacket if you haven't tried it on in person. They do tend to run small. You don't need to measure a leather jacket. You can measure other jackets you have to give you some idea of what measurements you need in a leather jacket...

    I think we need more photos to give full advice. Obviously, we can tell the jacket is too long, but it would be nice to have front facing photos as well as ones with a regular shirt for context and to see if there are other issues with the fit to advise the OP on.
