Found this No. 1 Quality online. I had second dibs on it and luckily, the first person in line turned it down.Happy that I am the new caregiver of this beautiful gem and I had to take it for a spin. Would appreciate some help on identifying an age for it. But I’m going to say late 40s early 50s...
Just want to take a moment to thank everyone for the information and/or compliments. Everyone's input makes this hat much more appreciated and I'm happy I shared it with you all. Smart that they produced westerns for tourists... Id certainly be a sucker for it then (as I am now). I reblocked...
Hey everyone! @deadlyhandsome recommended I bring this post over from “Western, Anyone?” Need some help identifying the age of this western. Would also like to know what kind of quality “extra extra superior” is! Any help would be most appreciated. It belonged to Charles Millby Dale, the 66th...
Just got this in the mail today. It’s my first Borsalino. I have basically zero knowledge of this brand but I’ve seen some mixed reviews. When I saw this western style I thought it would be a great acquisition. It’ll be receiving some TLC this week with some cleaning and new sweatband. I’m just...
thank you so much!! I’m just catching up on here. It’s a lot of work to set up for photos. I want to make sure I take good ones to do them justice- going back to what you were saying- they are very special. Couldn’t agree more. Thank you for dropping a line about them I appreciate it
Thank you both! I was thinking 20's. They are a lot of fun and I am thankful to have come across them.
I am curious to see if anyone on here would possibly trade for a western of the same time period and size.
Cross posting from No.1 Quality Thread
This No.1 Quality has no block stickers inside of the hat and to be honest, I am hesitant to pull down the sweatband to look for a LOT #. It is quite frail! Still good enough to wear , though. Love the fact it's from Cody, WY. Any info would be much...

Hat 2: This is not the original box for the hat. The hat is an Excellent quality from New Jersey. Note: hat box is from Cleveland, OH.
Looks very much like Hat 1 without a bound, curled, brim
Two hats for the thread. I am hoping that you can help me date these...
Hat 1: Owned by someone who worked at the Philadelphia factory. According to the "Stetson Hats"
book by Snyder, the liner logo was used for special order hats. There is no embossment on this sweatband. I am pleased to find...
Well this one has seen better days but I gave it the best facelift that I could. Rehydrated the sweat, naphtha bath, block & reshape. There’s just some spots ya can’t get out! A few holes too. It’s ok- I like the character. And the color!
I was fortunate enough to come across another 7X and I could not resist... I decided to shape the new OR with a cattleman crease and I shaped the first one I bought with a teardrop. The latest one I purchased, with the black key tag, feels slightly lighter and softer than the yellow tagged one...
Stratoliners have been following me lately, or maybe I’ve been following them? Either way, no problem here. Just brought these 2 home today. Well worth the long trip. They seem to be earlier 50s? If I’m wrong please correct me. The crest of the walnut one has stars in the crest. The grey does...
