Never got to play in this thread until now. Found this one.
Stetson Standard Quality bowler. Brim at 5,3cm and crown at about 13cm (eyeballing it a bit here). Lovely hand to the felt and finishing is top notch. Only thing is some foxing on the liner. From what I gather here early to mid-thirties. Imported by Sools of Paris. Not a lightweight hat at 170 grams, but doesn't feel like a heavy hat. I'll post the other numbers and tags in the second posting.

What a beauty. With so much label information you would have thought Stetson would have put a date stamp in somewhere:)
Indeed... a beauty and a kissin’ cousin to the recently added derbies from me and Brent. Thanks for all the photos of labels and stamps. I think early 1930s is a good bet.
Thanks, gents. Very satisfying to find hats like these.

Two hats for the thread. I am hoping that you can help me date these...

Hat 1: Owned by someone who worked at the Philadelphia factory. According to the "Stetson Hats"
book by Snyder, the liner logo was used for special order hats. There is no embossment on this sweatband. I am pleased to find a LOT # under the front of the sweat, which most likely means this sweatband is original. This is the original box

Nice finds! My guess is late mid to late 20’s for both, thanks for sharing and great acquisitions!

Two beautiful finds Jesse. Congratulations

Thank you both! I was thinking 20's. They are a lot of fun and I am thankful to have come across them.

I am curious to see if anyone on here would possibly trade for a western of the same time period and size.

Stetson Standard Quality green fedora. 2” raw edge brim, approximately 5 5/8” open crown. The un-reeded sweatband stitching is 4/5 gone…wonder if @Randall Renshaw could resurrect it?

I believe he could, but are you sure you want to spend that much on a dark Peacock green, two inch brim hat that doesn’t come close to fitting you? :)
The sew holes look to be useable, but I’d bet that the old thread holding the rest of the sweat on might also give up and need a re-sew as well.
It’s a lot of tedious work that should only be done on hats that are very special to you, or bring the big bucks in a resell.
Nice old hat, though!

I was thinking about it being restored to its original condition. I couldn’t make any money on it, but I’d be giving a grand old hat a new lease on life. Maybe some here might want it as-is?

1920's Exposition Homburg, Excellent Quality, Lot 4694

A Stetson Exposition Homburg, Excellent Quality grade still in excellent condition. According to the Seller, in 1955 his parents bought the original farm house of an orange orchard in Monterey Park, CA that was built in 1916. This Stetson hat was in a hat box left in the house. His mother remembers the previous owner of the house was a salesman of some sort. They kept the hat in the box all these yrs.

Silverwood was a men's clothing store founded in Los Angeles, CA in 1894 by Francis Bernard (Daddy) Silverwood. What started as 1 store grew slowly to become a chain of 18 stores but Silverwood ended their 97 yr run at yr end 1991.

Nice, Jack. And a 7 5/8, even.
