These 2" brim late 1950s hats are just on the "edge of stingy" IMHO. I have a couple of this style (maybe I'll wear one today...) The still "read" (a theater term) as a true fedora. This Dobbs is a class act, very nice!
Always classy Reggie. Love the pairing with that coat and scarf. Nice...
Stephen L. Stetson stingy beater today for household chores. Carter detachable sweatband, 2" brim and a mid-ribbon replacement by Mike Miller. Hat has been seen here before, but time to revive this thread.
Some house projects in progress today. Doing some work in my He-Shed and cleaning the deck. Mundane chores have become an event during this crazy year. Wearing my beater SLS stingy. Do love this hat for casual wear, I take it off to gaze at the tip logo from time to time..."Never connected...
What a beauty Steve. That color and liner logo really twists my cookies. Huzzah!
I'm a big back bow fan, but one of this era is really special. Love the tall crown and back bow details. Wow!
Fantastic old Stetson Michael. Dig those boots!
Another cool Brock Eric. That tip logo is cool...
I can play on this one. My topper that came from our friend @stefan steur as a post back surgery pick-me-up was originally sold at a famous department store in Europe, Peek & Cloppenburg. Image courtesy from Stefan.
Not leaving the bunker today. Yesterday I ventured out to the Home Depot and groceries. Wore a rather casual Stetson Royal Deluxe Porkpie back bow c.1958. Stingy, but very a period piece. It is of note that even when the styles were changing, the higher end, full featured hats were still...
So good to see you looking chipper with a great hat on Bill. I miss you.
Art's great ribbon work makes this lid soar Brent. Made me smile this morning.
Nice looking Gannon. I'll have to drag out my navy to wear soon. I like the ribbon treatment.
I worry about my FL friends on the east...
I feel that it is my mission to counter the throngs wearing sweats and pajama bottoms out in public during the pandemic. I never leave the house without at least the modicum of effort to look dapper during these trying times. I'm a geek that way!
Kind of late to the party tonight. Many errands in the wasteland today. Wore my new Allen Edmonds Broadstreet spectators and a 1950s Echter Borsalino Homburg. Color is Dattero a nice brown. So, a trip to my Haberdasher was in order for myself. Oscar ordered me a beautiful slate gray overcoat in...
I'm such a fan of back bow hats. Dating from 1955-1959 (during this resurgence of the style). I have yet to find any ads or hats from 1954 or 1960. Seems the style comeback was short lived. Of course, when you see Steve's 1920s version, this was one of the original versions. Love the color...
You sure clean up well sir! Love the VS.
I love the Macs Max. I think those sweat bands are my favorite type out there.
Great looking crown Perry.
Great mask Dave! Nice material on that cap too.
This style of cap, which I have been told is an "Ivy Cap" is one of my favorites. The...
