On the third day of Stingymas, my true love said to me..."do you really need another hat!" Of course Santa, I always do. This early 1960s Cavanagh 30 has been in my stable for a while, one of my favorites. If there ever was a poster child for the Stingy Brigade, this hat fits the bill...
Glad to have you aboard my friend! Way to make a big splash as you begin your hat crazy journey. Remember, read, read, read. You will learn so much about this obsession from your fellow Lounge members.
I told him we are exclusive. He is an eager new collector. He has a great old Marathon (possibly pre 1950s) and wants to learn more. I sent him the link to the dedicated Marathon thread to study. We just can't figure out where the "button" is to join the Lounge. Very strange.
I have a "dumb" question...how does one join the Fedora Lounge? I can't find the "join" page. I have a Facebook friend that is trying to get into our group and can't figure out how. It has been so long ago that I joined, I don't know how anymore. Please advise...new member waiting.
On the second day of Stingymas, I opened my Brimvent calendar to find a nice gray work hat. The Hat City Hat Co. of Danbury Conn. produced some very affordable (low end) hats during the late 1950s. Since I'll be puttering around the house today, I thought that this 2" Stingy would be appropriate...
Very impressive! It is on the slim end of stingy for sure. That ribbon treatment is truly spectacular! You just don't see this in a hat of the late 50s era very often. Nice.

In solidarity with Joe McCarthy of Fedora Lounge fame, I begin my submissions to "Stingy-mas" for this season. Had to go to the store to get what I forgot yesterday (yes, at my age YOU DO have to write it down) so I thought it would be a perfect trip for a "slim-brim" hat. This longhair nap is...
And to you and yours, and your slim brims as well.
Bringing out the big guns on the Sunday! Love this Borsolino Lobbia on you Michael.
Cheers as well Eric. Love the ribbon treatment on the VS. Nothing cooooler!
It is so good to see you Bill! You rock that Bowler! Scott & Co. is one of...

A short trip into the outside world this morning. Casual look with a Warren Baines jacket and a 1950s Lee's of London fedora. In stingy solidarity with Joe McCarthy this week. Today was also the debut of my new Florsheim navy blue oxfords. For some strange reason, I still was the only person in...
Where does one begin to comment on such a spectacular parade of hats. Always love the jelly donut (Sfinge) hat. Hats all have very interesting tip logos.
Just on the border of stingy Randall, but a really cool old Marathon.
Again with the fantastic parade. My heart can't stand the stress...
