What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

So very classy Steve! I love that ribbon treatment. Happy Stingymas my friend. A hat where the insides are as beautiful as the outsides. Maybe only for us hat crazies, but still, I really dig this one Rick. Not usually a brim up kind of guy, but this Cervo kind of begs for that look. Even...

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

I usually fondle everyone's hats in process while I'm there. I did see a black body on the block, not sure if it was yours. Mike stays busy, he had about six customers walk in while I was there for an hour or so. We had a heck of a time putting together the specs on the Aubergine Rabbitberg.

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Actually, this was yesterday's hat wearing. Took a day off of Stingymas to visit Mike Miller at NW Hats. Had a great BS Session about hats and such. Wore my new gray overcoat that Santa let me buy from my Haberdasher in Albany. Since I was going to see Mike, I wore the famous "Olcott" 1912...

On the eighth day of Stingymas a Lounge friend gave to me...the 880! Been saving this one for today. My friend Brent @deadlyhandsome from the Fedora Lounge gifted this beautiful Resistol 880 to me a while back. It is part of a series of models commemorating the "Jet Age" of the late 1950s/early...

It is interesting that my Smartlee back bow is not lightweight felt at all. It is more of a medium dress weight. Love this one, it looks really light.

Day six of Stingymas. When is a stingy not really a stingy? During the later 1950s, brims started to slim down, a 2" size became quite popular. We now consider them a "stingy", but looking at the hat, it still has Fedora lines and construction. I consider a stingy one of those 1965 1 1/2 plaid...

Way to be a player Charlie! Kind of a French Connection Popeye look. Love it. Classic look of the early 1960s in Europe. All the cool folks wore hats like this. You definitely look cool in this one.

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

On the fifth day of Stingymas, my true love gave to me (or more accurately, let me have, but I digress)... Five Stingy Back Bows Oh darn, I only have 4 of this style! Have to remedy that soon. I do have an affinity for these late 1950s slim brim hats. I like that they can be dated to the period...

On the fourth day of Stingymas, I chose one of my European slim brims. This Borsalino has all the classic lines of a true stingy. The color is Mirtillo (Blueberry) and the felt it just crazy nice on this one. This is one of my favorite slim brims.

On the third day of Stingymas, my true love said to me..."do you really need another hat!" Of course Santa, I always do. This early 1960s Cavanagh 30 has been in my stable for a while, one of my favorites. If there ever was a poster child for the Stingy Brigade, this hat fits the bill...
