Excellent idea, thanks for sharing! I've never heard of doing that and hope it will soften up the leather upper. I wore them recently, and put two layers of moleskin..it helped a bit.

Hiyas,
I just bought a pair of Re-mix Kiltie shoes. I love them, though they are a bit tight across the top. If they don't stretch out I'll take them to the shoe shop and have them stretched.
Mine are in black, love the red too!

Sorry I couldn't be of more help, I saw the shoes ages ago. If I remember correctly the are called 'Garbo' or something like that. That may help in your search!

Aren't they adorable! Well, they're no longer on the Red or Dead site..so I guess ebay is the best bet. They're from the shoe store, Schuh in the UK.

Not sure if this is what you're after (but I think these are gray anyhow), saw them while I was admiring another pair of shoes!

Indeed; my mom is amazing! Most of my stuff comes from her old shop stock, or her new yard sale finds (she has a knack for finding good stuff). Everything I know re antiques and vintage comes from her. :)

That is a great idea! Have you posted pics on here of your creations? I'm starting to learn to knit...it's going pretty slowly. I think I need some sweet little old lady to teach me!

*lol* If I ever decide to part with it Mrs Cleaver, I will remember that you would love to have it! My mother gave it to me for X-mas about four years ago. I didn't think it was going to fit and was SO happy it did!
I can relate...my buttons sometimes strain in the chest area on some sweaters...
