BoPeep - I have almost the identical one in the same colour! ;0 And a similar one in hot pink. I agree, you can't beat the beauty of a vintage slip!

Mav, I don't think you're coming across as that at all- and I doubt anyone else thinks so. It's great to have everyone's views on the matter.
And, as always, I say to each their own, in the 'meat is necessary' vs. 'meat is not necessary' debate. A lot of vegetarians consume fish and/or...
Hey everyone,
I'm always looking for great new recipes, so figured I'd start this thread. I did a search and couldn't find a current thread of this topic. If there already is one, and I missed it let me know.
Admin, if there is a more suitable place for this thread please advise/move.
I've...
Hello,
I bought this cute sweater for Fall to wear to work (you can't see it well, but it has bees on it). I had my eye on a different one, that had foxes on it, but they didn’t have a medium. Drat!

I'm also very fond of half slips, with or without crinoline/petticoat. I have about five, and am currently looking for more basic/ day to day ones.

I too wear vintage slips, mostly 40s and 50s (am wearing one now). And I have a few longer ones from the 30s. I feel quite naked without a slip under a dress, or skirt and blouse. *lol* I have an assortment of colours, white, nude, pink, red, black, etc.
One of my favourites is a 50s slip I...
Thank you Foofoogal. You know, I'm not sure if it is a reverse painting! But I believe so, must take a closer look. I have a lot of reverse painted vintage jewelery - love it.
I've been on a mission to neaten up my vintage jewelery collection, as most of it is in several boxes. I've put just my...
Hi Marla, I'm no expert, but I think you'll have a very hard time achieving a low-carb/high protein diet as a vegetarian. Do you mean just consuming less complex carbs such as: breads, pastas, beans, potatoes, bran, rice, and cereals? That still would be tough as a vegetarian because I imagine...
Not to mention the high levels of estrogen in it...men especially shouldn't consume a lot of Soy. (of course there are two sides to this story, and apparently evidence for both sides). Soy also can contribute to hair loss (and is an ingredient in many shaving creams and hair removal lotions)...
Well..day one of eating healthier and using portion control. So far, so good. ;0 I hardly ever over-eat, and am very in tune to when I'm full. However, now I'm making a concentrated effort to eat less, smaller portions, to see if I'm still satisfied and to loose weight. We'll see how it goes...
I do a shortened version of above:
1) Lip chap
2) Powder
3) Lip liner
4) Lipstick
5) More powder if needed, but it's usually not needed
My lip stick lasts all day long. ;0
I'm going to check out the Make Up Forever reds...as if I need any more reds! *lol*

1961MJS, I've heard them referred to as Snakebites also, and Black Halos. ;)
HHISIII, that made me laugh out loud! Methinks you are mesmerized!
Danny - thanks for the idea, I've never tried that, but certainly will. If I ever get to Dublin, I'll be sure to have some!

This is a sweet vintage inspired dress by Sandra Darren.
Size:
The tag says it's a 12, but it's much larger.
Measurements are:
Armpit to Armpit: 20 inches flat, doubled 40
Waist: 18 inches flat, doubled 36 inches
So I imagine it's more like a size 16, but I'm estimating. Please go by...
Sadly this lovely dress isn't my size, so my loss may be your find!

Closer shot of front:
I believe it's from the 30s, and it has a very sweet floral pattern. The material is sheer (you'll have to wear a slip) and the buttons are velvet and are on the front and back...
