And the Reg Kehoe and His Marimba Queens clip posted above is undescribable. I know, as a man of impeccable taste, I'm supposed to find it ridiculous and kitschy, but I find it funny and the rondo tune full of rhythm

I have only just discovered youtube and discovered some gems.

Ive just typed 1930's, 1940's, ww2, etc into youtube and found lots.
Too much to look at all.

So I am going to have a look and share with you those that are interesting to us because they give a nice insight to live back then, historical backgrounds to ww2, nice music, etc.

I guess YouTube just added Windows 39 compatibility...;)

Some of my faves:

The Rainbow Dance, 1936
Mesmerizing mix of traditional, drawn-on-film and rotoscope animation by pioneer Len Lye.

Scherzo: Verwitterte Melodie, 1942
Incredibly intricate cartoon with a fun premise (animals find an old wind-up phonograph). By the Fischerkoesen studio, Berlin.

Da Da, 1936
Early abstract animation in Moderne style by the forgotten Mary Ellen Bute.

Hot Dog: An All Barkie, 1929
Excerpt from one of the creepily ingenious Dogville comedies. Yes, with real dogs!

YouTube is very entertaining and addictive. I was up to 3 AM this morning looking at clips from Golden Era films and then some.

Stompin Tom Connors was voted the all time greatest singer in Canada ahead of Neil Young, Burton Cummings, Celine Dion, Ian & Sylvia and Brian Adams!
