There is no definitive research that concludes the amount of mercury in amalgam fillings is harmful to most people. In fact, just the opposite. Studies have shown over and over again that there is no elevated health risk from amalgam fillings, and in fact, trying to remove them is likely more harmful than keeping them. New data may change that in the future, but to suggest that currently no intelligent doctor or patient would or should choose amalgam is simply fear mongering at the highest level.
Some years ago, in Germany was argumented like that. But, that was just some years ago. Then, more and more voices on medicine were louder, which Amalgam associates additional with these masses of lighter or heavier allergical problem on middle-aged and older people. The reason is, that obviously many people, which had letting removed their Amalgam in the 90's or 2000's, got rid of their earlier allergical problems, headaches or even migraine and went to a normal health-condition, like beeing younger people, for new.
So, now, we mainly calling Amalgam "pure madness" or even "medical crime", here. No one, which is fit on education and clear on mind, would choose this outdated [swear redacted by bartender] , here.
Over decades, too much botching was done, with new Amalgam-fillings. The dentists here are declaring it, unofficial, keeping quite, about the option Amalgam-filling. They just know, that they can't take the patients for idiots. Not anymore!
