Two days ago, I went to the world famous 100 Club, to see the Imelda May Band, with support from Big Boy Bloater - both well worth catching. Bloater even had a 7" 45 for sale alongside the CDs.... joy!

I'll be seeing Imelda again in a few weeks, when she plays here in London with Wanda Jackson. :)

Saw the Red Stick Ramblers here in Vancouver. I think I want to move to NOLA.

Last night at Pier23 in San Francisco from 5-8pm, The Crown Syncopators. Here's a video of them, playing a particular favorite of the Pier23 ragtime crowd, of which I'm happily becoming a regular at-

"The Lion Tamer Rag"

This afternoon I was at the Dixieland-Monterey Jazz Bash by the Bay 2010, to hear one of my very favorite bands, The Royal Society Jazz Orchestra. The full band played two back to back sets, then the sextet players were heading off right after to play a private gig in SF. Here's Youtube clips of two of their most requested novelty songs, that they also played today:

Last night I went to the Kennedy Center to see the National Symphony Orchestra and the Washington Chorus, conducted by Christoph Eschenbach, perform Verdi's Messa di Requiem.

Obsessed much? maybe...

A few weeks back, the Slackers at Harlows in Sacramento. The Slackers are on par with Hepcat when it comes to live music. Phenomenal! Harlows used to be such a cool art deco influenced venue, but alas they have made changes not for the better over the years. On the positive side, it is just the right size for an intimate night of great music.

I saw David Booker's band last night. Mostly, I wanted to get out of the house, but he has a new singer, and I have to admit she seems to have breathed new life into the band. I think they've even added to their repertoire, and the rest of the band sounded better than I remember.

Well it was last week, but I went to a elvis presley 75th birthday tribute.
Really awsome, with Duke Bardwell (who played with elvis)
Robert Washington was singing, his voice was marvelous,
background singer was our Dutch Sue Moreno, and Guitar Player Chris Casello,
wow that man is amazing!!!! He is now one of my favorite rockabilly guitarplayers!
