What's for Dinner?

I think breakfast for dinner. Have some brioche buns to use up & Hubby seemed intrigued by the idea of French toast bread pudding made with the brioche. Bacon, eggs, and fruit on the side, probably.

I got my father the Blue Bloods TV show themed cook book, as he loves both the show and cooking. We had spaghetti out of it last night, and it was actually pretty good. Not bad for spaghetti from an Irishman.

Made a pot of spicy Texas red chili for Hubby, with avocado & beer on the side, jalapeños on top. He loved it.

Lily ate it, too (with cheese and crema), so it looks like we have a new family New Year's Eve tradition. Yum!

Tonight will be black eyed peas and collard greens with ham hocks, the traditional southern new years meal.

It was, and leftovers going in the freezer for future lunches for Hubby.

Tonight is potato soup, made with ham stock I made from the bone of our Christmas ham. Will be so good!

sometimes simple is the best - love this meal as we have it regularly except usually with Breyer ice-cream (mint chocolate chip is a popular one in the Fading Fasts house).

It's Bitingly cold day here in the teens, with a stiff breeze to go along with it. We're going to have homemade chicken pot pie, with a nice red wine to go along with it.
