Green beans go great with bacon.

And Tapatio hot sauce.

Tonight it's beef brisket, with a steam-ables pack of carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower. Add velveta and hot sauce and it isn't so bad.

Potroast is my favorite.

Tapatio on the green beans, although I have used it on meats similar to Stanley.

It magically is better by the second day (that is if there is any left) and IS great with a healthy dose of horseraddish. Man am I hungry!

I know it's not very Golden Era of us, but my wife and I have been doing a lot of slow cooker meals lately: meatloaf, stuffed bell peppers, stuffed cabbage, taco soup, hobo stew, even baked mac and cheese. Can't beat the convenience of those one-pot meals, either served alone or with something simple like a side of rice.

It seems more an more young people these days can't cook [even basic stuff], and the skills of our parents and their parents, is no longer being handed down... one for the declining standards thread

I found the right one, but I still do all the cooking. It's better that way, to put it nicely.
Mine can cook, but it takes all day.

Tonight, since she's still working, I cooked pork loin slices and Italian sausage.
