What was the last TV show you watched?

...Incidentally, Berta, Conchata Ferrell turned 71 this year, not bad, puts her in a hole new light.

The first time I can recall seeing Conchata Ferrell in anything was when she had a regular role as "working girl" April Green in a short-lived Norman Lear sitcom from 1975 called Hot L Baltimore, co-starring then-little-known James Cromwell. Ferrell is far from being a "one trick pony", but she's had a pretty good career playing "smart-mouthed, tell-it-like-it-is" characters like Berta.

I recorded it, but have only seen the promos so far. I had a similar thought - it seemed a bit tawdry for PBS, but my guess is that, while the promos are salacious, the program - I hope - will be more thoughtful and science, not prurience, focused. God knows we have plenty of channels and shows focusing on sex (eliminate easy sexual double entendres from most sitcoms and they'd have no dialogue or plots left). Sex in animals seems a reasonable topic for a serious documentary (and one that I remember seeing in those 1970s documentaries), but the MTV-like adds for the show seemed, as Worf said, not very PBS-like.

They have this female koala bear there... who always look kinda like somebody's old, maiden aunt, and this guy just dives into her nether's and begins... stimulating her... even going so far as to use a glass rod to simulate the act. Meanwhile granny koala's just sitting there with this "my isn't this nice" look on her face... The whole thing was surreal. That's the only word I can think of... surreal.... But I must say I learned alot... just also learned some things I wish I didn't know....

At the moment I'm wondering how Bohannon is going to get out from under The Swede's boot at the Mormon camp; I guess I'll find out in another 35 minutes or so. But seriously, I'm really enjoying it so far. I know modern morals and ethics are often attached to the plotlines and/or character actions, but it's not intending or pretending to be a historically accurate retelling of the building of the transcontinental railroad so I can overlook it's occasional flaws because I find it so entertaining. And you?

This is an out-of-sequence positive opinion on "Hell on Wheels", since I am watching it on Netflix: I am starting the third season while you real-time folks are starting season four.
With that said, I really enjoy the show - enough so that I just ignore some of the preposterous plot elements that you hint at. I wish those weren't there, but it's just the price you have to pay to see an otherwise great show.
In other words, I think we both have a very high opinion of the show.
