The first time I can recall seeing Conchata Ferrell in anything was when she had a regular role as "working girl" April Green in a short-lived Norman Lear sitcom from 1975 called Hot L Baltimore, co-starring then-little-known James Cromwell. Ferrell is far from being a "one trick pony", but she's had a pretty good career playing "smart-mouthed, tell-it-like-it-is" characters like Berta....Incidentally, Berta, Conchata Ferrell turned 71 this year, not bad, puts her in a hole new light.
