I am dying to know...

So did Tammy get invited back this year?

;) :p ;)

Sorry, couldn't resist! A friend in Long Beach sent me pix from her son's wedding earlier this year...and in the crowd...I swear...the picture's not too clear and it was just someone in a distant crowd...but the same type of black blouse with white embroidery...Lise said it was some friend of her sister's who just showed up uninvited and was annoying. Seemed a little too coincidental.

...what this woman did to create such a buzz! I Googled it and it seems she is a predator... there's one at every good party, I guess!

I'm coming now.
Friday- jodphers adventure gear
Sat night- the dress I just posted in the purchases thread.

Yup, and that's about all I know. Might do nineteen-teens one day since that's nearly all the vintage I've got in my collection that I haven't already worn to the event.

Oh, I'm so glad to hear you're coming after all Lauren! Hurrah!

I'm picking up pretty much every vintage dress I own from the dry cleaners tonight; tomorrow night is packing and Thursday morning I'm flying to CA--I can't believe it!

Okay, so I think I've figured out my outfits. I got my eyebrows waxed today (boy they needed it) and am planning to get my nails done on Thursday.

I'm feeling a little more relaxed now that I've gotten everything planned out! I still don't have a bag to match one of my dresses, but that's my fault, I'm terrible at buying purses.

Now...I'm a little concerned and maybe I'm just being silly but...

I've never been to the event at the Queen Mary, and I'm coming this year just on Saturday night with a bunch of others, and I know Saturday is the "dressy night", and really, I don't have any formal dresses, all I have are cocktail type dresses, is this appropriate? Or will I stick out like a sore thumb?? I know it's such a silly thing to worry about what to wear, but I'm such a girl!!

Thanks ladies!

sorry..I got interupted by work ...

Meant to add. I have worn a fairly plain black dress to the more formal dinner before, but that was before it was a band and dancing shindig.

I would say if you have something longer and more -tea- length, that would be more fitting for the occaision.

No one is gonna run you from town for your dress....

Tell me about it!
IU looked for weeks for the bag for my Sat. night dress with no luck. Then rummaging around my moms old bags, I found a great chain mesh purse. Perfect :)

Oh, purses! The only one I have is from the 50's; inappropriate for 1939 but there you are. I'll just say I was ahead of my time. ;)

I've got to run out and get some nylons tomorrow--hopefully seamed. All this last minute stuff!

Don't worry, I'll be wearing a black satin Stop Staring dress. Not even real vintage! I don't really have the money to buy vintage gowns, so repro is the way to go for me.

I have no doubt you are all having a fabulous time on the Grey Ghost tonight! Why didn't I learn of this event earlier or I would have made the trip.

Same time, same place next year, right? :)
