This is perplexing the hell out of me.

I was firmly set in my belief that a “boxy” highwayman just didn’t look good on a slimmer guy.....ever.

Yet here we are? A slim guy looking %#*^ing cool as hell in a highwayman!

Looks awesome @nick123

I’d go as far as to say that’s easily the best looking fit you have ever posted here.

Seriously, just wear what you're comfortable in. If doubts from your family bother you and you start doubting it yourself, maybe better don't wear it, because that insecurity will show and massively affect your environments perception of you and the jacket. I can tell you it fits you well and you can definitely wear it, nothing wrong with it. And it'll even look better if you wear it a lot, these bikers look best if they have that aged worn out look going with them, take A-1s jacket as example.

Yep. I was inspired to drag this jacket out of storage when I saw A-1’s jacket in post 6351.

Yes, I’m having fun posting in this thread.

Ok. Tell me true. Does this suck, or no? Yes, it’s an inexpensive e-Bay purchase, but it’t made of nice, thick cowhide...and it’s warm and comfortable...and I think the fit is pretty good...but...

Well...I see all the young guys in this thread wearing cool moto jackets, and I really want to wear one, too. But I’m worried that moto leather may not work for me. I asked Jackie for her opinion, and she dodged the question by asking why I would want to wear a moto jacket if I don’t own a moto. I countered by reminding her that she’s never questioned my MA-1s though I don’t own a F-86. And she likes my A-1, but I don’t have a Curtis Jenny.

So what do y’all think? Maybe I should just stick to something more age appropriate...and settle for a new tatoo?

Man for the life of me I can't, and I suppose somewhat refuse, to understand the term "age appropriate". I suppose at 43 I should be wearing a north face plastic everyday Joe jacket? Hell no.
Wear it man. It looks good. You look natural in it. I'll never stop wearing what I love simply b/c I've passed around the sun more times than others!

Jacket looks great. I had the same thoughts about wearing a MC jacket when I'm not a MC rider. @A-1 with his Buco changed that for me. Showed me you can wear it anywhere anytime on or off a bike.

I've never considered getting a tatoo. Don't like needles!

Wear it! It looks great on you. I'm also not a fan of needles like Terry so no tattoo's for me. But I do enjoy seeing other people's ink.

And yes, so much better than the plastic (fleece) jackets most folks wear all the time anymore. Enjoy the character.

I think I have to go against what everyone else is saying here, Atticus. The jacket looks jarringly out of place on you, especially with everything else you are wearing. Kinda the same effect as if you were sporting a new 19 year old girlfriend.

The only way you should wear a jacket like that, at your (our) age, is if it's YOU... an expression of your personality, and a continuation of the life you have been living. But I gather, from your questioning, that it's neither.

Please don't be offended, I'm speaking to you as I would to my brother... and you did say, "Tell me true" ;)

But that's just one man's opinion, and I'm often wrong.

ATF Tanker Jacket that I just received from CBI here on the forum. It's trimmer fitting on me than one would normally wear this style of jacket but I kind of like it like that. It handled a 32 degree ride into work today fine. The insulation is warm, soft and allows plenty of freedom of movement. The collar blocks the wind at my neck below my helmet well. I normally wear a neck gaiter when it's this cold outside and tried without and though not as well covered, the collar still did a good job blocking most of the wind. The light weight and easy movement is a nice break from my leather jackets. Leather still handles the wind better and would handle a slide better though.

Great looking jacket casehopper! And there's those pants again!

Is the jacket the one with fleece lining, or is the wool lined one?

A milder day here today, so time to wear my new (to me) ELC Star Sportwear I purchased from @nick123 recently.

It's a great jacket...a slightly more relaxed fit than I thought it might be, which helps if you want to put a sweater underneath. It's starting to break in nicely - the leather is absolutely amazing.

That jacket has found the right home. Enjoy it.

I tend to second this. It’s not that you can’t wear it; you can and should if you want to. It’s just that it looks a little “off” for whatever reason. It could just be that specific make of jacket or it could be the style more generally but to my eye it looks a bit try-hard.
