First time poster. Me wearing my recently acquired Goodwear, an Iron Heart flannel, and some Flat Head denim. My photo seems a bit clinical compared to the rest of yours so I'll go for something more natural next time.

Edit: I forgot to add, also sporting a "Corona (hair) Cut".

Hmm, pretty sure that Goodwear once belonged to me and before that @tmitchell59 , though not entirely sure. If so, it was a collaboration with Himel Bros..

It’s a very cool jacket, and no doubt one of a kind. Think I sold it to a guy on Staten Island? Is that where you got it?
Anyway, just FYI, the sleeves were originally way too long for almost anyone, and I had them shortened by Dena Hamilton at Great Leather on the recommendation of John from Good Wear. She did a great job. That’s a jacket I regret letting go, and nice to see it getting some wear. Enjoy!

@Monitor is costing me money again!!! ;)

I really liked Angel's jacket, but had no clue it was a Vanek until @Monitor said so... :). Long story short, I have one from Etsy incoming...said to be from the 70's. :)
I have same one too. So I guess the one on my pictures must be older. The newer ones don't have the extra leather strap with hooks for the holster. Enjoy! They are great jackets.

It does show some arm creases, but because the leather is more soft than stiff, they sort of smooth out when you stretch your arms and fold up when you bend them.

It is dyed black all the way through so no wear areas. I included a close up of the arm creases and two detail shots of the back.
This grain looks exactly like the blue cow i have. This kind of grain and the softness i guess from excessive tumbling maybe take a much longer in dyeing tumbler, since natural cow hide doesnt look like this yet somewhat random enough for an embossed press.

Yes, Vanek. I think they are still producing jackets and motorcycle clothing.

Haha, I really am sorry, @Will Zach!!! I just wanted to show off my jacket knowledge. :D

Vanek (the name in front changed throughout the years) used to make a jacket of rarely seen quality and make as @Angel can confirm I'm sure.
I have an entire Vanek police motorcycle suit - leather jacket is essentially the same as yours and Angels, except that it's got flap pockets instead of zippered ones (and badge holders) and the pants are even crazier with leather pocket bags, attachable kidney panel, etc. Wanted to take photos of the suit already but never got around to it.

Here's the suit. I've rarely stumbled upon a jacket that fits so well. It actually reminds me a lot of how Dominator fits.

I think you are right. The coolness of the hooks is off the charts. My jacket is a bit newer, but the design is similar (alas, no hooks...;). For $80 plus shipping I figure I cannot go wrong. There is an older Vanek on eBay out of Ukraine (also without the hooks) for which the seller is asking $320. Regarding the hooks - is it possible that these jackets were custom-made for the Austrian MC police and the rest of them did not have them?

Great! I also have the whole outfit but only used the jacket. Just read that Arnold Schwarzenegger ordered the exact jacket from Vanek after seeing it at the funeral of a former Austrian president.

Yes, they were always custom made for the policemen. But they also offered the same jacket for everybody.
If it fits you, you made a good buy! Cheers!
