Vintage 1970s Stetson 4X that had an RCA bash (I think) - gave it a more "1950s western" look with a teardrop. Braided leather band is from Outwest Saddlery.


EDIT: Wow, that pic was horrible - replaced the original pic with this one. Uploaded the other pic from my phone & didn't know how awful it was until I saw it on a bigger screen.

I did some more work on my unknown western hat again. I reshaped both the brim and the crown, giving the brim more of a '40s-'50s look with the cowboy curl up front. Still deciding on a ribbon choice. I'd like to get a matching 3/8 OR style ribbon and make one up for it but I'm a little shy on my ribbon choices right now...again, a tall crown with a Center Dent and a high tight pinch. I'm awful tired of Silverbelly, though...

That's a great hat and wonderful bashes. If you're tired of silverbelly you can try contrasting ribbon choices or just mail the darn thing to me...

Thanks, Fed. I wouldn't be opposed to a contrasting ribbon if I could get hold of one that's 3/8 in width. I wouldn't be opposed to a trade, either...

"Tugboat" is another term to describe the look of a hat with a crown that's noticeably higher/taller in the front than it is in the back, a.k.a. "rake". I think it's unique to The Lounge, because I've never seen it used in that context anywhere else.
