What is your favorite hat crease?

Not a big change from teardrop in avatar to diamond on Sage Strat. Its unlined and unlabeled and is slightly different than the walnut strat I just picked up. The walnut has less of a hump in the snap brim than the sage and the pinch is a little better to my liking on the walnut so I tried to enhance the pinch and tried a diamond crease on the sage colored one.

Since I was finally able to achieve a Diamond Crease on my Dark Brown Fed IV back in December the hat and I have been almost inseparable, so I thought I'd push my luck and try to duplicate my success on my Tawny Fawn Fed IV since I was getting a little bored with the Teardrop Crease I had given it:

I got roughly the same amount of rake and made the "snap" at the front of the brim more subtle than it was, but this time I made the side "points" of the Diamond closer to the back of the crown. This makes this hat fit a little more snug on my regular oval head, but I like it. As always, comments and constructive criticisms are welcome!

Nice job! I like that.

This Resistol Stagecoach is going to end up being a conversion of some sort. I don't know what to do with the brim yet. I was thinking of making it a Safari hat and not have to trim the brim, or do the unthinkable and trim the brim down to 2 3/4 and flange it to a fedora. Whatever I decide this will end up being a pretty nice hat, even after I lost my patience with it in the early going and threw it in the trash. I'm limited on tools and I'm limited on the $$$ to buy what I need, so, I get frustrated when it doesn't come out just right. I was finally able to work it on two different make shift blocks to bring the crown height from 6 1/4 inches to 5 3/4 inches, plenty tall enough for a fedora, IMO. Took some work, some imagination, and a lot of cussing, but I finally got the crown where I wanted it. I'm going to have to dig up some ribbon from somewhere, this one is an old salvaged ribbon that I just laid on the hat to see what it would look like....when I decide what to do with it I'll post the final results in the conversion corral...any suggestions for the brim? Trying to make a decision. I already penciled in Joao for not trimming it.

Bashing a hat.

Checking the inside of the hat for symmetry as I'm creasing.

TJ this photo just gave me an "aha!" moment. Now I see how you get the big side dents. Guess it should have been obvious but never noticed a photo that showed it so well
