It's that time of the year and, mercifully, the concept of trick or treat, never caught on this side of the pond.
Today's hat was a rather special gift courtesy of my wife, Tina. Bespoke made by Gamble & Gunn, it sits rather well with a blue blazer that I have.
Many of you have, when hearing about Tina's recent heart surgery, sent well wishes. I do hope I didn't miss anyone when I said thank you. The lady continues to improve, and she loves reading the posts on The Lounge.
Today's shirt will upstage any hat that I wear, a shirt that my mischievous Mrs, made for me to wear, with wizards hat, to accompany her when she made herself an outfit worthy of the late Gil Elvgren. Tina's witch wasn't quite as bold as Gil Elvgren's, but my shirt wasn't enough to detract attention, even with the wizard's hat.

Can't go wrong with either of those!!Seemed like a light color hat today. Have it narrowed down to either a 3x Open Road, or one of the 4x Cowboy conversions. Humm... Skinny ribbon or chunky ribbon? lol

She has again outdone herself, Robert.
I have always admired the Coroner’s hat in The Wizard Of Oz, but have yet to find one that fits. My feeble attempt comes in the form of this undated “Old England Hatters” lid…

Do they stock frames to fit you Charlie?A rare second appearance here today, but how could I not post this shot of the optician in our local BJ’s store this afternoon.
No idea, Greg. I only stopped there to get the picture, then kept on out the door. I Gotta have Zeiss Trivex lenses, though. Should I check?Do they stock frames to fit you Charlie?
Nice look with the long hair finish. This morning's choice is a new addition to my collection. Stetson 5X long hair cowboy hat. Another one of those 60 + year old hats that looks to be hardly worn.

Weve had family there in Putnam county since the late 1820s. The first relative that settled there was named Carr... he stopped there just off the boat from Ireland and stopped there because there were other Carrs already there. (Un related to us) Family lore goes that he figured that if the locals hadnt run off the other Irish, that it must be a safe place to live lolI know Cookeville… my in-laws had a place up in Spencer. We would go down the mountain to Cookeville if we wanted to go into town for dinner, which had more dining options than the first town over Sparta (and liquor on premises) We loved that whole area!
Nice work on that one, sir!!First snow of the season — heading out in my newly refurbished 3X Resistol.
