Borsalino " Peluche" . I tried my best to capture the glow this hat has in the sunshine but the pictures really don't do it justice. TGIF y'all !!

I need a wider brim hairy hat! both of mine are short brims. Maybe I could find one of the longhair westerns and convert it to a fedora. I just love the texture of those! I want something long enough to comb in the morning! lol

Fun hat note... garbage truck came this morning and evidently someone was getting rid of old newspapers. One of my coffee buddies down the street found part of a Jan 26 1954 Houston Chronicle paper in his yard. Had lots of post Christmas advertisements. One ad was announcing a Hat Clearance sale at the Battlesteins Dept Store ( Competitor to Sakowitz and Neiman-Marcus back in the day). Wish I had a time machine so I could go see what a $40 looked like in 1954 lol

Here is an example $40 hat from around 1951 - 1953. A OPS era Dobbs Forty: https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/post-new-hats-here.28145/page-2688#post-3072244

S. & J. Fraenkel Wien "Extra Qualität" possibly later 1930s. This is a fantastic Stone Gray Soleil Velour with high gloss and made for the Belgium market. I found this Velour back in 2015.
