Damn. Now, I'm back to square one re choosing my Hornskov.
Don’t get me wrong. There’s nothing wrong with the hat itself. It might be perfect for you, just not for my head as it came. I also ordered it with a medium height crown, rather than the standard tall crown, another thing I’m regretting now. I think the telescope crown would work better with the taller crown.

Life is good, Max.
Sitting on my balcony, smoking a cig, sipping cofee, playing with Cooper, and wearing my Optimo Melusine . Oh! And won everything in my foursome today. Seven pars and one birdie. Life is good! View attachment 559755 View attachment 559756

Thanks, Bama. I long for a SB Mode Edge like that. Thanks for sharing.
In the eBay thread there was a discussion about the Stetson Mode Edge and a question was raised about a Silverbelly ME. I posted one example of a Sovereign Twenty. In the true color sense I guess it’s really more of a light beige and without a Stetson color chart, i tend to shovel anything close into the SB pile.

I’m pretty sure this one would have been listed and sold as SB. CAN 7X CB ME.

Hi Daniele, so what is the difference in the modern Marengo Fur?
I know my Marengo has no lining and a cloth sweatband. But does the second price point mean a different felt aswell?

I used this hat in Southside Turkey on the Med this Summer. We had record degree temps this Summer and this Borso was actually cooler than my Panama which has a leather sweat. It was the only brimmed hat I could wear, and it actually kept the heat off of the top of my head.

When it first arrived I was bummed that it didn't have a lining and leather sweat, but quickly I became very happy about it.

Have you handled any of these Marengo hats, and seen what type of felts they use... It's easy to shape but will only hold a really tight pinch with some steam. But it will hold it then.
Hello there,
first of all I want to tell you that I have no significant experience with the felts that are used for the Borsalinos called Marengo. They are hats in the second price range and in my search for Borsalinos that I liked I didn't find anything marked Marengo, also because in Italy recently built Borsalinos are quite difficult to find on the market.
I'm glad you found them reliable during the scorching summer of 2023 which I think in southern Turkey was unbearable. It was here in Verona, several kilometers to the north, I don't even want to imagine what it was like.

If you want to try some vintage Borsalinos, tell me which size Borsalino is suitable for you and I'll see if I can find something interesting in my collection or in the vintage markets.
This is the best I can do to have a touchstone in your Borsalino discovery voyage :)
