This Borsalino, along with other hats, has been forgotten.
Cafro Borsalino Export 1.jpg
Hidden by its owner it was "saved" after a thorough inspection of the collection :)
A "special" Borsalino to fuel the discovery paths of its production
Cafro Borsalino Export 5.jpg
Borsalino Qualità Extra Extra Superiore referred to as "Tipo Esportazione"
Cafro Borsalino Export P3.jpg
Cafro Borsalino Export P1.jpg
Actually a "Colombo" branded only Borsalino
Cafro Borsalino Export 4.jpg
The felt is lightweight and finished in a very thin velour
Cafro Borsalino Export 2.jpg
The size is 6 FP, therefore a 59 centimeters or 7 3/8 in the USA and unlike other Borsalinos it is a very large size.
For further information on color and type, here is the paper label
Cafro Borsalino Export P4.jpg
Being a very soft hat, its shape changes with the slightest of features
Cafro Borsalino Export 7.jpg
It is quite new and arrived with the original box.

Wow, that is an excellent rendering! Thank you very much, it is a real blessing to see my family's faces clearly in this photo. I am very appreciative and also very impressed. Thanks again Terry!

PS, my dad, who is seen in this photo, is also named Terry.
You're very welcome, buddy. My pleasure. You have a good looking family there.

No doubt about it. All of us Terrys are good looking guys! ;)

That’s so funny - it’s exactly something my dad would say!

I am blessed to still have both of my parents. Here is a much more recent photo of the four of us (with my sister, from last Christmas).

No hats but it’s one of my favorite photos and a good one heading into the holiday season.

Happy Monday friends.

In the eBay thread there was a discussion about the Stetson Mode Edge and a question was raised about a Silverbelly ME. I posted one example of a Sovereign Twenty. In the true color sense I guess it’s really more of a light beige and without a Stetson color chart, i tend to shovel anything close into the SB pile.

I’m pretty sure this one would have been listed and sold as SB. CAN 7X CB ME.

Wow what a hat! And you answered another question I had about whether all Stetson 7x CB were westerns. Obviously not.

I suppose that if we shovel light beiges into the SB pile (which I’m happy to do), then this 3X ME fits the bill:

You all make a good looking family. My parents are gone now. My mother passed away four years ago, and my dad passed away about 2004. How old are your parents?

These are my parents in their much younger days.

That’s a great photo - they look like a lovely couple and I am sorry to hear they are no longer with you in person.

My folks are both pushing 80. I don’t look forward to the time when the baby boomers start departing en masse. We will lose a lot at once. Until then, I am grateful for each day with mine.

Hopefully your parents will be around for a long time yet. They look healthy and energetic enough.

Echter Borsalino "Fico" "Lama", date stamped May 18, 1929. This is hat from my rare 2015 find of three circa 1929 Max Eckard Berlin, Echter Borsalino Soft Felt Hats. It's one of my finest + special finds.
