I really wanted to wear my new-to-me Borsalino, but made the mistake of choosing my clothes first. Ended up in the tried and trusted Stetson Custom V. My wife is in a Maxim, as is her wont.

Decided to give the Kami an outing today. It's been a while. View attachment 307207 View attachment 307208
What is that beauty Steve, Karl Misik, wool/heathered? Wow...and I thought I was done... ;)
For what it's worth it, I would have changed all my custom made for that one Max, fantastic hat!
Ok Joe, may I change my vote for this one as well ? Some serious dimensions too!
Echter Borsalino possibly late 1930s and a recent find.

Ok I'll take the risk and make the trip, are you sure they are all in the same safe ? ;) Fanastic Italian parade Stefan, again !
Don't see many telescopes and you have that one looking great. My Phoenix is about as close as I have to a telescope.

Looks great without pinches Steve, and totally understand how it feels to be out when it's sunny in our region...
Chilly weather calls for a substantial hat. 150th Anniversary Stetsonian.

Does that mean that it's the beaver version Jim? Looks great btw!
You wear great many different hat styles, combined with the right outfit Reggie and that Strat is not an exception!!

You both look lovely !!
View attachment 306601 View attachment 306602 I wore my trusty old VS dark moss out to drive the wife to work (late start). Giant snow piles all around from about 17-18 inches of snow. The roads would be tolerable if not for most of my “neighbors” shoveling their cars/driveways back onto them. Makes me glad I put 35 inch tires on my truck. Everybody have a great day and be safe out there, wherever you are. Now, back to my sourdough....
Love the color combo on this one Alan!
Bad day, gray and with sparse water. Day suitable for brushing hats, but there are always some errands

A few years ago there were a number of hats here on FL from Bulgaria's distant past before WWII.
In my collection I have three, collected over the years. This came from London.

The felt is sublime and its fit is perfect, then it is also one of my favorite colors therefore, despite the rain, wearing such a hat is always a pleasure

Thanks, Chris. To my knowledge, Stetson nor Mr. Deckard have disclised the fur content of the open crown Royal Deluxe hats. The only ones I know of that claim 100% beaver content are the Pinnacle and the latest "True" series, such as the True Blue Open Road. I also have an Excellent Stratoliner and have no idea the fur content of that, either.

Looking warm and toasty Michael! We are getting hit with a New England coastal Nor'Easter tomorrow. 8-12 inches of snow with 40 mph winds. May have to dig out the stormy kromer!
Thanks Dave. Your weather sounds familiar to me. Ha ha. Today we may get another 2-5" of snow with a high of around 2 degrees. The Stormy Kromer has been my most often worn cap so far this winter, but i don't think it's up to the current temperature trend. I do have a winter Kromer that has thinsulate lining I need to dig out.

While I love the headwear Michael and its all important ear flaps, I covet that beautiful coat even more.
Thanks Steve. Your hat today looks great, but it also looks like you could use some nice warm mouton on a sunny and cold day.

The hat will keep you warm, but man that coat is killer!
Thanks Stefan. Your exhibit for the continuing Italian week is inducing altogether too much envy in the central US.

Can't resist to comment on that great coat again Michael! Need to find myself one ;)
Thanks Panos. That is a fine lineup of hats you have in today's post. Loving that navy blue homburg.

The coat is a private label to Juster Bros in Mpls, MN, but almost certainly made by the BW Harris Co. They usually marketed under their own Zero King label, but did private label work as well. I would search for Zero King if I was looking, Lakeland also made some top notch coats on this design.

Thanks all,
Michael

Thanks Panos. This is just one of those Homburgs that looks better without pinches. It's old school, like me :)

We don't see the Open Roads creased like this very often. Makes a completely different hat; excellent!
Here's another Geo. I. Eakle in Grey. Also heathered Stefan.

Your Phoenix looks great, Randy, and the feather garnish makes that bird really fly!

Good looking Stratoliner, Reggie. I like the wider pinch on this hat.
Thanks, Brent. Those wide Stetson crowns provide a lot of options for shaping. For some reason, I have always been drawn to that squared-off front.

While the first snowstorm in ten years is raging outside I'll make sure Italian week is not forgotten. This will be in two parts because I still owe you two from last week. The first batch.

Thank you, Chris, for your kind comment and observations. Your assortment of homburgs and up brims are fantastic, I like them all, but I agree with Michael the navy blue Glyn & Co is definitely a standout. Not to mention your excellent collection of overcoats and scarves to accompany them are spot on.
