Your Phoenix looks great, Randy, and the feather garnish makes that bird really fly!
Thanks, Brent. Those wide Stetson crowns provide a lot of options for shaping. For some reason, I have always been drawn to that squared-off front.
Stefen, I have been enjoying your cavalcade of fine Italian hats. The damp Borsalino Gulaela Bronzo is exquisite! Keep them coming as they are always a highlight and an education.
Thank you, Chris, for your kind comment and observations. Your assortment of homburgs and up brims are fantastic, I like them all, but I agree with Michael the navy blue Glyn & Co is definitely a standout. Not to mention your excellent collection of overcoats and scarves to accompany them are spot on.
Steve, Super! I need to wear one of mine this week!Decided to give the Kami an outing today. It's been a while. View attachment 307207 View attachment 307208
Hauls like that I imagine are few and far between. Though I would welcome them any timeTime to celebrate the Champ, Joe. Already looking for the next haul I suppose?
On the contrary, Gary, there is no mistake with that Custom V and attire.I really wanted to wear my new-to-me Borsalino, but made the mistake of choosing my clothes first. Ended up in the tried and trusted Stetson Custom V. My wife is in a Maxim, as is her wont.

Thanks, Chris. To my knowledge, Stetson nor Mr. Deckard have disclised the fur content of the open crown Royal Deluxe hats. The only ones I know of that claim 100% beaver content are the Pinnacle and the latest "True" series, such as the True Blue Open Road. I also have an Excellent Stratoliner and have no idea the fur content of that, either.
Ok Joe, may I change my vote for this one as well ? Some serious dimensions too!

A crisp -15F wind chill this morning had me bust out the Mink Envoy Crown Cap for the first time this winter:

The recently discontinued New York LE hats are marked “Pure Beaver” in the sweatbands too.
I seem to recall that Jared @jlee562 worked out the the Deckard era Royal De Luxe hats were something like 10% beaver...using Stetson’s foreign advertising from a country that required disclosing the fur types? It’s a vague memory; maybe Jared can clarify? I also thought that all of the modern Excellent line were pure beaver.

The Premier Strats were described as such in this post.
IIRC, the Excellent quality hats are all beaver, but if you pressed me, I'm not sure where I remember this from.
