What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Fritz Hückel Hutmacher Weilheim "Zephyr Seal Velour" possibly mid to later 1950s. This hat was made for the American market and Tonak probably had the trademark so Hückel Weilheim had to use a different trademark. I haven't worn this one in a long while but it's really a great later Velour.

Stunning example. It's cousin is the only Hückel in my collection and I affirm the quality of the velour felt in this 1950s example. The pleated ribbon is exceptional as well.

Man Michael, you're making me thirsty for some Marzen Beer......

Great looking Alpine.
Thanks Tim.

Well I am officially indoctrinated into the Dutch Connection, and what a way to go in - this absolutely fabulous Borsalino Ecosan, Qualita Extra Extra Superiore in the color Averla, from between 1945 - 1955.

I had to wait for some Sun so I could take photos outside worthy of this fine hat. Also broke out the Canon L Series glass, no phone pics for this one (other than the selfies).

Thanks Stefan, an absolute pleasure to deal with you.

That one is a gem, Bob. Have we seen it before?

Great hat. Great color.
Thanks Jim. It does seem to be a pretty unusual color. Some lights give it a bit of an olive tone. One of my favorites.

Thanks,
Michael

Hi folks! I'm almost back. I still feel lost on the periphery of the vortex without my tardis.

The FL is a pita without Tapatalk.

I'm sending this from my Android phone, so I hope it works.

I've managed to like some posts today. Can't believe how many wonderful posts I must have missed on all my favourite forums.

Hopefully - I'll be back!

Thanks Stefan. it's been hanging upside down in a proper box since I got it and I gave it a bit of a steam this morning. Seems to be coming around.

Loving them both. Can't decide which is more fun to say, Sools or Sfinge.

Michael
Thank you, Michael.

The Sools! Gorgeous. Have I seen this one before?
Thank you, Reggie. You could have, but you may have missed it. It's this one:

Posting this was a chore, but I got it! LOL
Glad you did your chores, Reggie. We would have missed this hat otherwise!
Today I wore a JC Penny’s Air Command. The Air Force blue hued felt is just one of the standout characteristics of this fedora.

Finally felt good enough to celebrate my Birthday Dinner this evening, ended up with a stomach bug last Wednesday. My new go-to restaurant in Albany is Gambretti's, fine Italian dining. So I thought it appropriate to wear a fine Italian Borsalino hat. This classic 1960s style is in the color "mirtillo" (blueberry). Now I'm fat and happy.

A belated happy birthday, Mike. A good Italian restaurant is always a celebration.
Trying out this Biltmore Golden Pheasant velour alpine hat today.

I hope I can be forgiven for having more eye for the coat than for the (green) hat. Love that coat, Michael.

A Champ XXXX Velour today. I'm feelin' the felt!

Brims up for Bob, who is celebrating another trip around the sun today. If you have a way to reach out to him, wish him felicitations.

The pleasure was all mine, Tim. The L glass does it justice; one of my finest hats, but one I never could wear comfortably. Better to find a home where it could be worn and appreciated. Your place!

Tim, Ecosan is a lovely, lovely raw edge model Borsalino.
Borsalino felt and craftsmanship at their finest, imho.
One of my most celebrated hat day victories was the day i received twin Ecosans from the same seller in the original box for the price of one. One in Averla and one in Pervinca, blue.
I still smile thinking of that day and both remain in the tops of my collection.
I celebrate with you Sir.
The pic is the first day i wore it on Willow’s first day 2 1/2 years ago.
B
I still lust after that Pervinca, Bowen. You can do without it: you got the real price in your hands there.

This Pimbell, most likely made by Cavanagh, is another frequently reached-for hat in my collection.

That's a beauty, Dave.

This picture was from the other day but I'm wearing it again to run some morning errands this a.m.. One of my earlier conversions, Resistol Stagecoach in a Chestnut color with a dark brown 6 ply mid ribbon. Tall straight crown with a tight pinch....
