Well I am officially indoctrinated into the Dutch Connection, and what a way to go in - this absolutely fabulous Borsalino Ecosan, Qualita Extra Extra Superiore in the color Averla, from between 1945 - 1955.

I had to wait for some Sun so I could take photos outside worthy of this fine hat. Also broke out the Canon L Series glass, no phone pics for this one (other than the selfies).

Thanks Stefan, an absolute pleasure to deal with you.

I believe it is made by Cavanagh because of the felt and finish, color, everything about it is nearly identical to a Cav I own. Plus, it was sold by Pimbell of Norwalk, Connecticut, where John Cavanagh was mayor, so there is a strong connection there.
Sorry, no more pics tonight. Can't get a good shot in the light in my apartment.

Great looking Borsalino. Averla is a warm and versatile color. Enjoy.

I have been walking the property with my dog while wearing a VS thin ribbon fedora. This sage hued beaver felt was inspired by the venerable vtg. Stetson Stratoliners.

Unfortunately the pics of me actually wearing the hat turned out to very burred. I will have to update at a future time.

Best this evening from my Minnesota backyard, Eric -

It's hard to beat a thin ribbon. Art did that one up nice.

That can't happen! One brexit is already more than enough, Steve. Using the fedora lounge on a computer takes a bit of doing, but once you get used to it, the rewards are that you get to see the beautiful hats on a large screen.
Here's my working method.
1. I take a selfie on my i-phone
2. I mail that picture to myself (the phone will ask in what size you want to mail it: don't pick the largest!)
3. I open my mailbox on my computer and download the pics i've sent myself
4. I open up the pics in a photo-editor to edit them (usually just colour correction), which prevents them from showing up sideways here.
5. I use the "upload a file" option when posting to find the picture(s) on my computer and add it to the post.

Once you get used to that working method, which is a bit of a roundabout admittedly, it works. And the lounge is worth it!

For the new hats it's more or less the same, except that those get taken with an actual camera and edited in photoshop, downsized (a lot!), renamed (no way to find them otherwise) and then uploaded.
I've had to relearn navigating FL in a browser window, but you're not kidding about the nice big pictures, Stefan!
I was having issues with my wireless printer and laptop not staying connected in my network. My daughter also gave me a small DYMO LabelWriter printer for Christmas that connects via USB. My PC towers are old and out of date. The internal battery even died in one.
I had a docking station around that I never even used before, so last weekend I wired up both printers, a 17" monitor and an old school keyboard and mouse. I used to have 5.1 sound with one of the PC towers, which was pretty nice. The docking station has a single speaker jack, but I was still able to send audio to my powered sub, then to my center channel, which is one that Dell made to clip beneath their monitors, from the sub. After listening to phone or laptop audio for months and months, this really sounds pretty darn good. So sound quality, not just picture size, is a reason to ditch the phone if you aren't out of the house.
I do find myself trying to "touchpad" the monitor every once in a while, usually when I want to stretch an image to get a close look at something.
I just realized that images could be pasted directly into the dialog boxes, before some of you recently shared it. I did it with YouTube files on a couple of listening threads and wondered why I had never tried it with my pictures. Ctrl C and Ctrl V used to be the way I moved most things around on the computer. Going back shouldn't be too difficult.

This picture was from the other day but I'm wearing it again to run some morning errands this a.m.. One of my earlier conversions, Resistol Stagecoach in a Chestnut color with a dark brown 6 ply mid ribbon. Tall straight crown with a tight pinch....

The picture of me wearing the hat is closer to the actual color

Nice, love your conversions. This one seems to have a peachy finish?

Yup. that sweatband has some miles on it.

Strat had a seat all to itself for this Singer Island bday celebration (grandma turned 90).
