Super Habig Zefir, Steve. Possibly late 40s even with that retro 30s style script.

Yeah, but you guys would give me Euros. What the heck would I do with those?
When it comes to Paypal and other internet transactions, I am totally lost. So when Esther told me the price of the hat she had made me, she was somewhat surprised to receive a postcard in the mail. Inside was her remittance, in Euros, that I had bought at The Post Office. Those are the only Euros that I have ever seen, and that's despite the currency being in it's 21st year. Pounds Stirling for me, and US Dollars when we visit Uncle Sam. We haven't been to any European Country, except our own, in twenty odd years.

Good help is hard to find, especially in family. Beautiful girl, surroundings and hats that have stood the test of time. Take care of yourself. Obviously, someone is there for a reason.

Thanks for that nice comment, Roger... and sorry to miss much of the recent action on the Lounge. I am working from Brooklyn this week, with precious little free time to explore new posts. The street scene here in Greenpoint is amazing, a mix of hipster kids and pizza places that provide exactly the same taste I remember when I was their age, with just a touch more stomach distress afterwards. I'm loving it. The moonrises have offered a lot of interesting photo ops too. Will catch up soon.

You're in Brooklyn? I'd like to at least meet you to shake your hand (not for being in Brooklyn, though)! haha

<smile> My family was in Brooklyn at one point before I was born. Eastern Parkway area. I grew up in Jackson Heights. My good deeds are done in the five boroughs. I am headed east to our home in Hampton Bays to recuperate for the rest of the week. It would be fun to meet up sometime. I am down every 4-6 weeks or so.

Take it easy during your convalescence & don't push it getting back.

Beautiful young granddaughter who will grow up fast! I hope she lives nearby so you see her often.

Thanks Jack...unfortunately I’m self employed and my boss could only give me the one day off. Up until a year ago this granddaughter and her mom has lived with papa and nana since the day she was born. She only lives a mile away now...we’re pretty tight buddy’s.
