Have a great Tuesday,
Michael
I've never been successful in adding to the Top Ten Hats thread, but if I were to pick a single favorite hat it might be this Borsalino thin ribbon. The color "monlov" which seems to defy translation, matches nothing and goes with everything. Perhaps it means "my love"? The felt is superb - light, finely finished with a crumple that makes it a pleasure to form. But mostly, it just suits me and I feel wonderful wearing it every time I put it on... the mark of a great hat, no?
lastly a comparison shot with another Borsalino Ludoela of a similar era to show the monlov hue.
Out this afternoon in a Stetson Avenue.
Best, Eric -

Redescovering my Optimos lately.
Optimo Melusine today.

I can't capture how shiny it is in the pictures. It looks as if the hair had oil smeared on it. And it feels silky, very pettable. That one is very very nice. Sharp color choices, and that melusine finish is so luxurious.

Very nice indeed.State exams today and tomorrow which means, for me, jacket and tie (and waistcoat) just because I want to.
And with that ensemble, and the trench coat, the brown Gledhill's works very well, both colorwise and dimensionally.

Thanks Bill. It's been awhile since I've had either the Hanover or the Norfolk jacket out.Love the colors on the hat. Actually the whole outfit is great.
It should (and probably would) make anybody's top ten, Alan. I like it more every time I see it.
Confirmation that you have one heck of a hat collection, Alan. Not that confirmation was ever needed. Plus, damn man, you look good in all of them.../QUOTE]
It certainly does suit you! It’s an amazing hat, and the color is so unique. I love those unreeded sweatbands.../QUOTE]
Thanks very much guys!
Great job Scooterz! That's something I've tried my hand at a few times. Having a kiln would help.
Charlie, Thanks! Same back to you!You know I love all your hats, Steve, but this unique style really rocks!!
Steve, Thanks!Great ribbon too, Steve. As usual, looks good on you.

Nice one. But be careful around trees and especially conifers; their sap and resin make stains that are very difficult to remove.
Gorgeous hat Daniele. Is that wisteria behind you?
Love the beachcomber Eric.
Thanks again sir. Never can have enough costumes for a day!Another great hat, and shoes Eric. Really the whole outfit is top-drawer.
Good to see you around in homburgs some more, Eric. You wear all your hats well and the homburgs are no exception.
Impeccable. To the nines, man!
Love that Honey Boy! Pure style.Today was a two gray hat day. First a memorial service this morning. An Art Fawcett “Honeyboy” was the hat of choice.
