State exams today and tomorrow which means, for me, jacket and tie (and waistcoat) just because I want to.

And with that ensemble, and the trench coat, the brown Gledhill's works very well, both colorwise and dimensionally.

I've never been successful in adding to the Top Ten Hats thread, but if I were to pick a single favorite hat it might be this Borsalino thin ribbon. The color "monlov" which seems to defy translation, matches nothing and goes with everything. Perhaps it means "my love"? The felt is superb - light, finely finished with a crumple that makes it a pleasure to form. But mostly, it just suits me and I feel wonderful wearing it every time I put it on... the mark of a great hat, no?

lastly a comparison shot with another Borsalino Ludoela of a similar era to show the monlov hue.

It should (and probably would) make anybody's top ten, Alan. I like it more every time I see it.

Stefan, Thank you! The Velour is fairly thick but not that heavy weight wise. Later on the felt quality and construction dropped. These hats are machine formed with strange/unusual DDR liner logos but I have to say this is hat is one of my favorite hats to wear.
