What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Ha ha, might have some snow again tonight. But at this time of year 53 degrees feels like a heatwave. Nice enough to try a new panama in any case.

Two very nice looking hats, Stefan. I would give it to the Wormser on looks, but I understand the felt is not so nice. I think the felt on my Wormser is quite nice. Seems they may have had a lot of variability from grade to grade, or hat to hat.

Michael
Thanks, Michael. Can't fault the Wormser on its looks certainly, but based on what I've read on the lounge I expected the felt to be better. But variations in felt quality or the odd one slipping through is always possible, even with the best of brands.

WAR and gills: that first hat means business, Jeff! Cool hats, both.

On a bright sunny day here is a joke of the "perfidious" Borsalino
dbqpfp.jpg

G.B. Borsalino fu Lazzaro Qualità Speciale of recent manufacture marked with the mark of the "rebellious cousins"
5eiq95.jpg

20hnjur.jpg

The color is "Dattero" and no indication of the type as for the past fifty years on the paper label
11u927m.jpg

The felt is thick and very malleable, the finishes are of great quality. The edge of the brim is "feltrata" like the Cavanagh edge
hra3pw.jpg

The size tag is for the American market, it shows 7 1/2 or 60 cm. also on the paper label
rmmec5.jpg

The proportions are quite unusual because the crown is impressive and very rounded and the brim are from a sixties hat fashion

It comes from a purchase of Borsalino that arrived new and without any indication of the shop or seller, they looked like prototypes
Thanks for the likes on the lobbia "Mirtillo" Trionfo on Simeon Zlateff memory

Good to see you, Joao and great hats. Bet you didn't wear the boots.
Not on this walk. Would probably damage them and damage my feet. But they are now more comfortable since I added the pads or whatever the name is.
I had to think it was much more than the 7.2Kms, it has many steps and walk to reach the starting line and to return home. I probably walked 13 kms in total on sunday. My phone counted 18.000 steps and 13.3 kms.

Exquisite Eric!!
Again, you amaze!
May i ask, is this the blue Bantam that came out of Australia, i believe, some time back? I may have it confused with another.
Thanks. Bowen

Thanks sir. It is the hat that have shown in the Comparision thread.

I really LOVE that Bantam, Eric. The classic, simple lines, and the amazing color.

Thanks sir. I worry I may wear it to an early demise.

Fantastic, Eric! Where did you score that bad boy?

I have had this one for a while. Apologies as I do not recall its path to my hat rack.

Trying to work the kinks out of this Stetson twenty five open road. I love the hole in the front of the crown, but it really bothered my OCD to see the edge of the sweatband showing through the crown.

I reblocked it with the sweat band (which is intact but has seen a better day) folded out and the felt bounced back easily. As I folded it back in, it was still visible if I looked closely, but I hope it won’t be any worse once it settles. At least I know that if worse comes to worse, the issue will be remedied with a new sweat band.
