Good to see you, Joao and great hats. Bet you didn't wear the boots.

Wow, so nice & such a good look!
Just slays me every time I see it. One of my favorites.
Worth it for the liner alone, Steve. Love those detailed ones.Mayser made for made for Johann Zehme Munich (Royal Bavarian Court Supplier). This is one of my favorite Stiff Felt Hats. I really like the lower profile and offset bow.
Steve could tell you more, but the combination of black felt and green ribbon with a backbow is called an Ausseer hut. A hunting hat style from Bad Aussee. Not unlikely that the style was copied as a fashion style in the fifties. Thanks Stefan. I do love this hat. Is the trachten style where the popularity of back bows in the late 50s originated?
Lovely tone to that felt. Is that a British brand?
Thanks,
Michael
Very nice, Bob. Not the type of felt I'd immediately link to Cavanagh.Cavanagh.
I'm not a western hat guy myself, but I'd wear that one for sure. Outstanding, Alan.

The Eres-Kent is a German made hat. Indeed a lovely felt. English style was very popular in the fifties and sixties in Germany, so many English sounding brand names popped up at that time, even though the manufacture was German.
Very cool, Steve. Was the brand continued after the original factory went out of business? I spotted a Möckel last week and it didn't look that old to me.PH. Möckel Hutfabrik, Homburg vor der Höhe, Official Supplier to his Majesty the Emperor & King and Official Supplier to his Majesty the King of England, possibly early 1900s. PH. Möckel Hutfabrik, Homburg vor der Höhe made the first Homburg Hat for Edward VII King of England. This Stiff Felt has great form and wears feather light. It's very difficult to find original PH. Möckel Hutfabrik, Homburg vor der Höhe because the company went out of business in 1931.
PH. Möckel HofHut (Court Hat) Fabrik, Homburg vor der Höhe, from the Gotisches Haus (Gothic House) Bad Homburg , Germany hat collection.
To think a few days ago you had snow! Excellent looking panama, Michael. Thanks for the history lesson, Stefan.
Feeling almost like spring this afternoon. So I had to see how my new Macy's Men's Store Panama looks.

Stefan, Thank you! Fantastic Wormser and Penney's Marathon from your today!Very cool, Steve. Was the brand continued after the original factory went out of business? I spotted a Möckel last week and it didn't look that old to me.
Stefan, Thanks again!Worth it for the liner alone, Steve. Love those detailed ones.
Ha ha, might have some snow again tonight. But at this time of year 53 degrees feels like a heatwave. Nice enough to try a new panama in any case.To think a few days ago you had snow! Excellent looking panama, Michael.
Two very nice looking hats, Stefan. I would give it to the Wormser on looks, but I understand the felt is not so nice. I think the felt on my Wormser is quite nice. Seems they may have had a lot of variability from grade to grade, or hat to hat.Two very similar hats today. First the Wormser (it finally gave in)

after that the Penney's Marathon

The Wormser does have the looks, but the clear winner on all fronts is the Penney's.
