Sure is, Steve.P. & C. Habig Wien "Special Qualität" "Special Zefir" "Ventilo" possibly early 1950s. I haven't worn this hat in a long while but it's a nice one.

Thanks, PerryThanks, Michael. The brim is dark gray top and bottom. Examination of the hat seems to indicate it was "double-dipped." A light gray hood was re-dipped partially in a darker dye. The hat was then fashioned so the brim break occurs at the point where the color changes, then the brim was trimmed to width. If you look edge on at the brim, you can see the wafering effect. The outer part is dark, and the center is light.
Nice Wheepit!

Late 50s to early 60s Stetson Twenty, The Sovereign. I am really impressed with the felt and quality of the felted Mode Edge on this one. A dark chocolate or espresso brown with a copper or root beer colored ribbon. Not a super wide brim, but it does offer some shade and shelter from the elements. Sweet felt.
I pop this one to open crown after I wear it, then decide on a center dent or diamond crease depending on my mood. I went with the center dent today.
.
I'm just guessing about the dyeing method. That's what made sense to me. If you remember where you read that, please share.fascinating "cut away" of the brim sandwich!
I could have sworn I read something in some old source that bodies could be felted that way by starting with one layer; then moving onto the different fiber mixture; then placing a burlap "cap" over the top half of the hood before adding more fibers of the original color. The end result would be that the crown would have two colors layered on top of each other, while the brim would end up like the above.
Of course now that I said that, I can't for the life of me think of what thread I would have read that in. So I might have just made that up in my head?

It will be readily apparent that by utilizing the above process by applying the different color furs in different sequence, a large variety of color combinations can be made. For example, if a dark crown and a lighter brim are desired, the dark fur can be applied in a thin layer to the crown portion of the cone and the lighter fur deposited in the second operation. Also, it is within the purview of the method to provide the blocking means over the crown portion of the cone and deposit a light coating on the brim portion and thereafter deposit the darker fur over the entire crown portion and brim portion which when felted will produce the dark crown and light brim.
Jim, Thank you! Your Stetson Heather Royal Deluxe Two-Tone is fantastic + unique!Sure is, Steve.

A bit late, but one of your very best, Steve. And that's saying something.J. Hückel´s Söhne "Standard" "Loden", NOS and from my May 2016 Czech find.
Thanks, Michael. It was both a grey day and very early (not the best combination). Thanks Stefan. My three piece suit and overcoat collection haven't been getting their usual workout this winter. It's been so cold I've been stuck in work wear/hunting/ex-military stuff to stay warm. Hopefully they will get a month or so of wear now.
Another great 'burg. It does look grey there.
Thanks,
Michael
