Groceries in the snow this morning. Light snow...

Stetson 3X in a kind of gray with hints of blue in the velvety felt. A fav from @Wesslyn . I wish the custom hatters could get felt this color. In brighter light it looks more blue. On overcast days like today, it looks more gray.

Gorgeous hat, Doug. I really like those ribbed ribbons.

Late 50s to early 60s Stetson Twenty, The Sovereign. I am really impressed with the felt and quality of the felted Mode Edge on this one. A dark chocolate or espresso brown with a copper or root beer colored ribbon. Not a super wide brim, but it does offer some shade and shelter from the elements. Sweet felt.

I pop this one to open crown after I wear it, then decide on a center dent or diamond crease depending on my mood. I went with the center dent today.

Wow, the felt looks redish, like auberine; maybe because the photos have a red tint :)

A nice selection Stefan. A long day of trying on different hats often wears me out too. Ha ha.

Interesting choice, Perry. I had already taken my photos of the day with my choice of a Donegal Tweed cap when I saw this one on you. Great minds, or small world, or whatever.

Hats of Ireland in Castlebar. If I've found the right history they may have been a Stetson licensee during the 1960s.

Thanks Michael. I think "great minds" pretty well covers it. I love the knickers.

Hat made in the sixties has one of the most interesting felts among those in my collection for softness and lightness

The edge of the brim is "feltrato" ie without seams or cuts, called in the USA "Cavanagh edge"
