What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Those gorgeous hats of yours are always a bit painful for me, because we're the same size! I try not to think about it:)

That will work out well one day in the not too distant future, I bet. In the meantime, can you come up with a meaning for the color name "monlov"? Or remind me if you've already translated that one before?

Wish I could help you out there, Alan. Don't have one in that clour myself and I don't recall Daniele ever commenting on this colour name. Some of these colours refer to place names or plant names (in Italian), or so Daniele commented once. But even he doesn't have an explanation for all of them.

I say....it was nudged.
No, it wasn't, B. [emoji2] Even though it was a 7 1/4, it fit me very well as is. I think you might have thought it was because there is a slight depression on the front of the crown. That was because the ribbon was wrinkled, and I tried to iron it out with Ana's clothes steamer right before I took the pic

Only you responded, so I will not post any more resized/not resized hats. I thought it might be interesting, but blah. [emoji2]

Thanks. I don't think I've ever come up as empty on a color name as on this one.

This large velour Borsalino sees very little use. It’s in with a few others that my wife has made known she doesn’t like.

It’s a somewhat unruly hat with a full three inch brim. My wife thinks it makes me look like a vagrant...in a bad way.

Does your wife give you the glance toward your hat? My wife doesn't say anything, but gives a disgusted glance toward my grizzlys.

She likes to mix it up: Sometimes it’s a look, sometimes it’s a laugh, and sometimes she asks that I walk 50 feet in front of her. She’s a good sport so I try to be sensitive to her preferences.

Can't comment on them all, but wonderful hats the last few days. My own:

I enjoyed all of these beauties Stefan. The "Duke" hat is certainly interesting. The Lupo is just nuts!!

A well appointed vagrant indeed! Love the details of this hat, brim stitching and that wild hat band. It is not exactly my cup of tea, but you have to appreciate the style!

Catching up this evening with everyone's great hats today! Spent the morning visiting Mike Miller in Eugene. His new "off the rack" hats are really nice, better than the major hat brand's offerings currently. I always bring my new hats for show and tell when I go down. I wore the new Resistol 880 (can't seem to get enough of this one lately). He was impressed with the Cav edge treatment and straight sides for the late 50s vintage. We tried to give the Vita Felt a nudge, but it is still a little snug. I'll just have to wear it to break it in fully.
